We were extremely pleased with our daughter's reception at the Meadowbrook Inn, July 19, 2014. The events manager for our reception was professional, eager for the event to be just what we wanted, and ever present during the event supervising and responding to any needs or questions that arose. The setting was beautiful and the entire staff was pleasant and helpful, smiling and engaged. The food for the reception was way beyond our expectations, absolutely delicious, in fact. We used buffet style serving which went quickly. The food presentation was fresh and neat and very classy. We chose a less expensive menu and felt like we received the highest quality of food. There was plenty of food for our guests, and we appreciated the abundance.The only low mark is in the preplanning. I was able to meet with our coordinator several times which was great, but my emails were often not answered. I had much better contact through phone conversations.

The Meadowbrook Inn was an ideal location for my wedding ceremony and reception! The staff was extremely accommodating and the food was excellent. My friends still rave about how wonderful everything was. Our event planner, Erin O'Hara, was wonderful to work with. Her attention to detail helped make our wedding weekend seem seamless. I felt very relaxed knowing that I was in wonderful hands with the Meadowbrook Team!

Beautiful Inn in downtown Blowing Rock. It was very close to our ceremony site (Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church), and had views of the mountains surrounding the area. The room that we used had a large dance floor, seating for 130, an outdoor area, beautifully arranged h'oer doerves on serpentine shaped tables as well as butler passed. The wedding party all stayed in the rooms at the Meadowbrook and were very pleased with the accomodations. I stayed with my bridesmaids in a large suite that the hotel owns, so along with the pool, hot tub, and fitness room in the main hotel we also had a balcony with mountain and downtown views, an huge den with high ceilings, a full kitchen, and a fireplace. Molly and Page from the Meadowbrook worked together to help us accomplish the reception that I wanted and also assisted in helping me find a DJ for the reception (who did the best job of any DJ I've ever seen at a wedding or formal event), acquired items we needed for the reception that we didn't know how to find, recommended someone to do my hair (his styling was impecable), someone to make our cake for us (layers of almond with chocolate ganache and vanilla bean with key lime curd and key lime buttercream), and put us in touch with a florist who made my bouquet, and put a great deal of planning into the overall ambiance and the reception wouldn't have been nearly as nice without their hard work and dedication.

Hidden gem. Good prices. I had 3 different coordinators because they kept leaving through the planning process. I do wish they had more options such a linens, chairs that we didn't have to rent, and I would have done a backdrop like lights and drape because the green walls don't look good in photos. The carpet is ugly but no one notices it. But beautiful space, easy to work with, and good food.

THERE BANQUET MANAGER LACKS PEOPLE SKILLS AND DOESN'T CATER TO HER CLIENTS. THINGS THAT HAD BEEN PLANNED FOR MONTH WERE NOT FOLLOWED THROUGH BY STAFF.

Theme to our reception might as well been false advertisement. Most of the things they said to get us to choose them as a reception site were just ways to get our business which they did not follow through on. For example, Erin the sales executive never returned our phone calls, mis-quoted prices, as well as lied about where our money went towards. At most receptions the banquet managers are supposed to tell you when each traditional event such as bouquet and garder toss, cake cutting,when father daughter dance takes place, we had to find Ani(the banquet manager) to ask her when it was supposed to happen. After our reception was over they called and tried to charge us an additional $282, for which they couldn't really explain what it was for. The food for our reception was way over charged, they charged us $1,000 worth of "taxes" for our food. This place is not worth all the money you will spend.
