Jo Ann was responsive and easy to work with. She was so flexible with picking up samples to taste and making suggestions from our preferences. She made a delicious lemon-blueberry cake, two other cupcake flavors, and a few gluten- and dairy-free cupcakes for my MOH. We provided loose, fresh flowers and she decorated the cake beautifully.

JoAnn at Hallmark Cakes is amazing! She hand crafted a tiramisu cake for our wedding and I kept having guests come up to us complimenting on the flavor, moisture, and pillowy texture of the cake. She is prompt, professional, and knowledgeable! We wanted a minimalist cake design and she made it perfect and classic. I know that tradition is to typically save part of the cake to enjoy with your spouse on your one year anniversary, however her cake is so delicious that I don't think my husband and I can wait! It is that good!

Highly recommend Hallmark Cakes. Jo Ann was so flexible with us, as we had to change our cake size based on guest count changes with Covid. We gave her a picture of what we wanted, and the cake looked EXACTLY like the picture. And it was delicious! Definitely plan to work with her again!

I highly recommend working with Hallmark cakes. Jo Ann was very flexible, responsive and easy to work with. Her pricing was very reasonable and the cake turned out to be perfect and delicious! Wedding planning in COVID was very stressful, but I can honestly say the cake was the only thing I did not have to stress over. She handled everything! We needed one layer to be gluten free and she offered a variety of flavors and was very allergy friendly. Overall, we had the cake of our dreams and it was delicious!

Jo Ann was fantastic from start to finish. We had to make multiple adjustments to get married during the COVID pandemic, and Jo Ann was responsive, understanding and quickly adjusted things as our needs changed. Our cake was beautiful, exactly what we wanted!! And we received tons of compliments on taste (The lemon raspberry is to die for)! I highly recommend Jo Ann to anyone in the area.

On October 12th, we had our dream mountain wedding! After reviewing numerous vendors we knew we hit the jackpot when we contacted Jo-An Hallmark. My husband and I did a cake tasting with her and we had to book her right there and then. She is so knowledgable and easy to work with! Such a pleasure! We chose a pumpkin spice cake with a chai ginger frosting and yes ... it was absolutely delicious! Seriously, do not look further! Hallmark Cakes is the way to go! :)

I am the father of the bride. My wife, daughter (bride) and I inquired about who to make a wedding cake for our daughter’s wedding in November 2019 in Blowing Rock, NC, and we received a high recommendation for a wedding cake prepared by Jo Ann Hallmark (Hallmark Cakes). We studied her designs and reviews and were convinced she was the perfect designer/baker for our daughter’s wedding cake. We communicated immediately with Jo Ann and she was extremely responsive and answered all of our many questions in a friendly and thorough manner. We set up an appointment for the bride and groom to have a cake tasting…and WOW! First Jo Ann was very efficient and patient. We loved her philosophy and approach—she said think of your favorite dessert and flavors, in whatever form (not just a traditional cake) and I can make that into a wedding cake. She also said “pick what you like, not what you think your guests will like”. With that in mind, the bride and groom told her of their favorite desserts—key lime pie, tiramisu, and rich chocolate. She gave them a sampling of her cakes and man…it was delicious! The best cake they had tasted! They decided on a four-tier cake, with two layers of key lime, one layer of tiramisu, and one of chocolate fudge with rich chocolate ganache. The wedding ceremony was outside with the North Carolina mountains as a backdrop. The cake design was beautiful and received so many compliments. But what was inside was even better—the cake flavors were fantastic, and it is a good thing I ordered a cake for 180 people (when the attendance was 110) because THERE WAS NO CAKE LEFT!!! People went back for additional cake in different flavors. The cake was truly one of the highlights of the wedding! In addition to the wedding cake, Jo Ann did the groom’s cake that was presented at the rehearsal dinner. It was likewise delicious and very little was left. Jo Ann was easy to work with to create a cake that represented the groom’s interests. It was perfect!!!! Jo Ann is the one to go to for a wedding cake in the Blowing Rock/Boone/Banner Elk and surrounding North Carolina area. She limits the number of cakes that she makes (from scratch) per weekend and they are not mass produced, homemade, and made with love! Thanks Jo Ann.
