Last Petal is a full service floral design studio, offering arrangements and decor for a wide variety of special events, galas, and weddings. Melanie Tipton is the owner and lead designer of the studio, taking a very hands-on approach to ensure top quality and fresh designs for all our clients' needs. Melanie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Texas A&M University. While there she studied under ProfessorJim Johnson, a world-renown designer and educator in the floral community. As part of her studies, Melanie completed two internship positions with floral studios in Scottsdale, Arizona and Aspen, Colorado. Upon graduating, Melanie traveled to Germany to work in the studio of Gregor Lersch, a highly accomplished floral artist, where she further explored european floral traditions and refined her aesthetic sensibilities. After returning to the states, Melanie took the position of Horticulturist at the Museum of Natural Science, in Houston, Texas, where she remained for four years before leaving to focus her attention on her own floral studio.
