Waterfront Event Center is a park and waterfront wedding venue situated in Mackinaw City, Michigan. Open since 2017, the facility is located within Headlands International Dark Sky Park, which is a public county park sitting on 600 acres of old-growth forest. The property is home to the rare dwarf lake iris flower, and features five miles of well-groomed trails. Couples can hold their ceremony, reception, elopement bridal shower, engagement party, and even rehearsal dinner at the venue.
Facilities and Capacity
It is important to note since the venue is within a public county park, visitors to the park may have access to the grounds during a couple’s event. Rental of the space includes exclusive access to the interior space of the facility and the covered patio. While rental doesn’t include the amphitheater-style seating, surrounding grounds or forests, shoreline, or observatory dome, guests are still welcome to explore the areas, as they are open to the public. The indoor areas include a fully licensed kitchen and ADA restrooms, along with open, beamed ceilings and an indoor/outdoor fireplace. Couples also love the facility’s green roof, which is planted with flora to add to its natural ambiance. Waterfront Event Center can accommodate 120 seated guests inside, with another 80 on the covered patio. While parking is offered at the site, there are only 67 spots available.
Services Offered
The venue offers couples lighting, sound equipment, tables, and chairs, but also allows for a completely blank slate for couples to build their dream wedding. Outside vendors are permitted, giving couples a wide range of options to stay within budget and choose their favorite vendors. Couples will need to provide the set up and clean up for all chairs, tables, and equipment.
Accommodation
In addition to the event spaces, there is also a guest house available for rent approximately half a mile from the Waterfronts Event Center. With capacity for 20 overnight guests, the house is located on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, boasting beautiful views of the lake and allowing its occupants use of the outdoor fire pit.
