Border Grill Catering & Restaurants is a wedding catering company based in Los Angeles, California. Owners and co-chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger discovered their love for authentic Mexican cuisine while ironically working in French restaurants during the early 1980s. After taking a trip to Mexico in 1985, where they learned recipes and techniques from home cooks, they came back to the States and opened their very own restaurant. Now, over 30 years later, Mary Sue, Susan, and the experienced team of culinary specialists at Border Grill Catering & Restaurants are ready to bring their unique style and expertise to your wedding day.

The best catering company to work with!

I cannot say enough good things about working with Border Grill. It was nothing short of perfection!! Not only is the food incredibly delicious, each staff was so kind and helpful and just a joy to work with! Special thank you to Taylor for your care and attentiveness, and attention to detail! We will be working with them as our main partners and we can't recommend them enough!

Affordable and delicious!

If I could give 10 stars I would! Used Border Grill at my engagement party for 65 people and did their quick service catering option - it was perfect. Our on site lead Chelsea was amazing! They used our kitchen and made sure all the food was presented beautifully and stayed hot for all our guests. The empanadas were so good and my guests would not stop raving about all the food! Highly recommend and I will be back!

Border Grill was the absolute best choice we made for our wedding in Malibu! Taylor and her team brought our vision to life and made the whole process so fun! Our guests raved about our apps and the tacos. We cannot recommend Border Grill enough!

A+ experience

We hired Border Grill for catering and bartending services for my post-elopement party in June 2024. I cannot recommend them more!!!! The food was AMAZING, the drinks were stellar, and the team was honestly A+. Working with Taylor to plan the event was so smooth and easy, and Chelsea, who was at our venue for the day of the event, is A SUPER STAR. The rest of the team went really above and beyond; a guest injured her ankle at the end of the party and they helped out immediately, getting her ice and a chair before I even thought to ask. Great communication throughout. We are so happy we went with Border Grill!

Amazing Caterer!

I am writing this review wayyyy too late (a little over 2 years after my wedding) and it has been eating me away inside because I need to give Border Grill all the praise they deserve. As a wedding planner myself, I had worked with Border Grill previously and found them to be so easy to work with as well as extremely professional. They always had the absolute best food so I knew when I was getting married they were at the top of my list! My husband at the time was hesitant as he isn’t the biggest fan of Mexican food even though I explained to him several times that it's a delicious modern fusion. Once we had our tasting he was sold! Taylor was so great to work with and so flexible with all our requests. We of course had to add on the churro tots for desserts as well as late night tamales. Nothing was left from either of those stations! We did a plated dinner and our guests could not stop raving about the choices, especially the short rib, it was a huge hit!

Wonderful Team

We worked with Border Grill for our August wedding in Los Angeles, and we couldn't be happier! Working with them in the months leading up to the wedding were so easy, Taylor was super responsive and helpful in arranging everything. It was easy to get pricing and we really appreciated the transparency when getting pricing packages for different types of service. We ended up going with the taco buffet option, and we have received so many compliments on the food from our guests! On the day, the Border Grill team was prepared, professional, kind, and efficient. They helped out with all the little things like pouring water at the tables, busing cocktail glasses, and even kindly prepared plated dishes for me and my husband. We didn't have to worry about a thing for catering the entire day. The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend working with Border Grill for your event!

Amazing to work with!

I have worked with Broder Grill at a few weddings and they never disappoint. Taylor is great to work with, on top of communications, and flexible when it comes to changes and updates. The food is always great and the staff is on top of everything, providing a great service! Highly recommend!

Zero Regrets

The quality of food and service was just what we were looking for. We wanted quality food that people would talk about and remember. A wedding guest told us, "Wow, someone finally figured out wedding food". Food was something we were excited about and we are so happy to report that everyone loved it. The agua frescas were on point, bartending service on point, chip and guac station on point, entrees/appetizers everything was so delicious. Hire Border Grill (Taylor was the best) for quality food and service at your wedding!

Fantastic affordable Mexican catering!

Border Grill was absolutely delicious and fantastic! Taylor, our point person, was fantastic to work with. We were excited to have more interesting/unique food at our wedding that was also affordable. Taylor helped us coordinate rentals (including managing everything when the rental place closed down only two weeks before our wedding!) and kept our minds at ease. All our guests loved the food and everything ran smoothly on the day of. During the wedding the on-site catering coordinator also came up to us (bride and groom) to ask what we wanted to drink and make sure it was ready at our sweetheart table. Overall fantastic service the whole way through!

Wedding Catering

I was extremely pleased with my experience with Border Grill Catering from the very beginning. Taylor responded right away after an email request and was responsive and helpful at every turn. The staff at the event were absolutely wonderful; both efficient and kind. Several people commented on how delicious the food was and a lucky few got to munch on leftovers in the days after. I couldn't be more pleased with how smoothly everything went. My only regret is I didn't eat more chips and guacamole or chicken tinga empanadas during appetizer hour!
