Joyful, professional, amazing woman!

Jocelyn was the most phenomenal planner, advisor, and caretaker for our daughter's January 2023 wedding. Her recommended vendors were fabulous, and the care she took with every step of the wedding was exceptional. She brought humor and joy to the process and truly listened to what the bride and groom wanted. On the day of the wedding, she was a calm presence, and knowing that she was there to manage all of the moving pieces was a huge relief -- we could just enjoy the beautiful day she helped to create!

Jocelyn was an amazing coordinator who's services paid for itself

If you want a low stress, high impact wedding that follows your vision Jocelyn is your dream Month of Coordinator. I had previously done amateur day of coordination work for friends so had a very clear idea of how I wanted my wedding to look and wanted to do the bulk of the design and vendor picking myself but also knew that my husband and I just wanted to sit back and relax the weekend of our wedding. So when we met Jocelyn at a vendor showcase at our venue, The Museum of Life and Science, we knew we had found the right person. Because of her depth of experience with our venue she was able to plan and account for all of the idiosyncrasies of the museum, including when we threw in a curve ball of switching out the white tent included at the venue for a clear top tent and adding lighting. We ran into some last few week issues with logistics and fees with the venue for this detail and Jocelyn was able to jump in and get it handled efficiently and for half of the added cost we were originally quoted by the venue which meant we saved a good chunk of the money we paid for her services. I can confidently say that hiring Jocelyn was an “added cost” to our wedding planning that 110% paid for itself. We included add on hours to our planning to lay out budget expectations, because we had an idea of a total amount we wanted to spend but were unsure how that money should be broken up within that total, so we did not do something like accidentally over allocate money on food and leave none for flowers. This was insurmountably important to keep our budget on track, even though we did end up ballooning our budget a bit with the extra year we had from being a COVID postponed wedding. Which Jocelyn was also a consummate professional about. When we were overly cautious in April 2020 and postponed our October 2020 wedding for the following year Jocelyn was such a gem and reached out to all of our vendors and arranged the postponement with them so we didn’t have to do it when we were already emotionally drained from making this heavy decision. We were so touched and she was able to confirm all of our vendors so we were able to keep all of our “dream team”. Leading up to the wedding we had some meetings about a month out wherein Jocelyn was able to identify a hole in our planning and priorities - aka the fact that we had not picked a DJ as we did not intend to have dancing at our dinner party style wedding. She was able to recommend a trusted vendor - Frankie at Island Sound who was not only available but also the perfect fit for our wedding. On the day of we were confident all day that everyone and everything would be exactly as we planned and really truly did enjoy our wedding with no stress. I had a lot of signage, wedding branding, and even a memorial table with our passed family member’s favorite foods and photos and Jocelyn was able to execute all of the details just as I’d imagined. Even our photographer who works on hundreds of weddings a year complimented us on having one of the best coordinators she has ever worked with and has now recommended Jocelyn to her other clients still looking for a vendor. The closest thing to a disaster was that right before dinner a rattlesnake came to investigate the patio the dinner buffet had been laid out on, which delayed eating but the situation was handled so elegantly by Jocelyn and the venue that us and all of our guests now only consider it a funny story. That’s the type of coordinator you need, one that thinks on her feet and leaves you and your guests with nothing but happy memories. I would use Jocelyn again for a high impact event and have definitely recommended her to our friends.

Professional

If I could give Jocelyn 1000 stars, I would. Her professionalism and knowledge of the industry was great. She was able to keep me calm during the planning process (oh, to be a “COVID” bride). She kept us on schedule and checked in often during planning. She is well known in the industry and only suggested the best vendors! I am appreciative of all of her hard work and knack for detail. She made sure that all of my wedding dreams came true. If you are looking for a someone professional, but personable…Jocelyn at A Paradigm Shift Event is your woman! ❤️

Stress-free wedding

Jocelyn made wedding planning a truly stress-free experience. She walked me through every detail to make sure she clearly understood my vision. She covered every base and I felt completely comfortable allowing her to handle everything. About two weeks prior to my wedding, I was so at ease I thought I was forgetting to do something. She said “that means I’m doing my job!” If anything went wrong on my wedding day, I know nothing about it because Jocelyn and her and her team executed flawlessly. Even a few guests commented how kind and professional she was. I was extremely pleased with their work from beginning to end. I would highly recommend A Paradigm Shift Event to anyone who wants the best.

Excellent!!

Overall, Jocelyn Warren helped make our 50th wedding anniversary a success. She responded to our request immediately, was knowledgeable, coordinated with vendors, directed us to a magnificent venue, suggested decor, and guided the program participants. She did much more, but what I liked most is that she treated our celebration with as much care as she would have for her own event! Great Job!!

For 2 busy people, this was the Best.Decision.Everrr!

Jocelyn is THE BEST wedding coordinator everrrrr! Jocelyn is professional and knows her stuff when it comes to etiquette, traditions, and alternative options and ideas for all aspects of weddings. We experienced the Full Service Wedding Planning & Design package, and it was a lifesaver as we are both busy professionals and hardly had time to add anything more to our to-do lists!

Jocelyn was excellent at communicating with us throughout the process. We had a few in-person meetings, monthly Skype sessions, and she was available by and responsive to our many calls, texts, and emails. Jocelyn did thorough research for the venue and all vendors for our wedding, and always presented us with multiple options including the pros and cons of each choice. When asked, she would give her professional opinion, and always respected our choices.

In the beginning, we had vague ideas of what we wanted for our wedding. Jocelyn shaped our ideas into reality, making them authentic to our personalities, interests, and desires. In the end, the rehearsal, the wedding, and the reception all ran smoothly, without a hitch! (Even *if* there was a mishap, we had NO clue because Jocelyn & her team made sure everything was handled by them on the wedding day.) My husband and I (and our guests) had a BLAST! Our special day was so well-planned out that it was hassle-free and worry-free for both of us—which is how a wedding SHOULD be for the bride and groom!

It has been 6 months since the wedding and we are STILL getting compliments about how cute our customized save-the-dates, invitations, and wedding programs were; how well the wedding, cocktail hour, and reception events “flowed seamlessly”; how the theme of our wedding suited us perfectly; and how much fun everyone had! A lot of our family commented about how Jocelyn was such a “sweet young woman” who was on top of things and always cordial. The venue’s staff even made remarks about how impressed they were with the professionalism and organization of Jocelyn and her team throughout the process and especially on the wedding day. (Jocelyn’s creativity, ingenuity, experience, and keen sense of logistics provided the venue staff with ideas for future weddings and receptions at their venue.) Even our photographers and videographer commented on how easy it was to working with Jocelyn.

Oh, and we live in Maryland and the wedding was here, too. So, Jocelyn was able to give us ALL of this top-notch service from North Carolina! (She did travel to meet with us a few times in person, especially for venue visits.)

Side note: My fiancé and I had seen Jocelyn/APSE's work as a “day of” coordinator at a wedding where we were guests. Both of us agreed it was the best wedding we had ever attended—started on time; reception ran smoothly/no “boring” moments, etc. We KNEW that we wanted her to coordinate our wedding!

We hired A Paradigm Shift event for partial wedding planning services, decor/design services, and day of coordination. We booked Jocelyn about a year before our wedding and I am soooo glad we did!!! We were planning our wedding from out of state, but Jocelyn made the planning process so easy. Throughout the entire year leading up to the wedding, everyone kept saying how calm I was as the bride, and my response was always, “it’s all because of Jocelyn!!” One of the things I was most impressed with aside from her professionalism and attention to detail was how quickly she learned me as the bride. Her vendor recommendations and decor selections were always on point!!! She made it so easy for me (an extreme Type A bride) to trust her vision. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful our wedding day was and we owe so much of that to the A Paradigm Shift Event team. I highly recommend them!

A Paradigm Shift Event was one the best decisions I could have made, during a time when I was coping with the loss of a parent member, yet still wanted to celebrate a significant accomplishment in my daughter’s life. Jocelyn was simply amazing in helping me organize my thoughts and ideas for the celebration. She leveraged resources which helped me stay on task amidst competing priorities, and she provided design options that helped me balance the “must haves” with my personal budget contraints. My daughter’s college graduation celebration was absolutely magical in every aspect. If you’re thinking A Paradigm Shift Event is limited to weddings, please do not place them in a box. Jocelyn is amazing and her design style is very adaptable. She is well connected with the right vendors to bring an event together that is truly seamless. I can’t say enough about A Paradigm Shift Event, Jocelyn and her team. Do yourself a favor and let a professional ensure your event represents you well without the unnecessary stress.
