Need some friendly advice....
I need advice on planning, invite list, ALL the planning! I know it's a little less than a year away maybe longer but, I have no idea what I'm doing, at all. I don't know who's going to be my maid of honor, my brides maids, what dress, anything. I just wanted to start simple like getting bridal mags and little things like that but all of a sudden I just went wedding crazy, lol. We have a very and extremely small budget for this. I'm stumped, confused, stressed, frustrated, overwhelmed and very annoyed with myself. Can someone please help me? I don't want any links but just a few small words of advice like, where to start first. Thank you all in advance its much appreciated!!!!

Hi Brittany, congrats on ur engagement and happy planning. I have just started planning my wedding too and i understand how everything can jus be so overwhelmng at least u have a bit more time i have only 3 months to plan a big wedding on a slim budget. I found the checklist of this website very useful as it guides as to what u need to start with and all. Magazine can be a good start and just google for ideas, u will find something that will hit u on almost every wedding item u need to work on. so my advise is use the checklist and google for ideas u will find something.

happy planning

Hey Brittany, congrats! I have been planning my sept 2011 wedding technically since january but not seriously until early August. My advice would be look at any magazine you can, ask any friends that were former brides for their leftovers (much cheaper.) Follow the check list this site provides. Consider DIY stuff, like we're making bite size snickerdoodles, two cookies per clear bag with a nice sticker thanking people, for our favors. Each cookie may cost 5-6 cents and the bags might be 10 cents (haven't priced yet) but that saves tons of money. For invites consider designing them yourself on Heritage Makers for about $1.50 each including envelope (pretty good deal most are $2.00 plus.) Also on invites don't go through the trouble of inserts is you are comfortable directing people to your wedding website. they can even RSVP on it! This saves time and money not to mention the stress of waiting for replies by mail and that one that never arrived! Continued!!!!

Hey Brittany, Congrats on your engagement. I am just recently engaged and have started planning for a wedding next sept. We are also on a very, very slim budget. I have found that the check list is a very helpful tool in what needs to be done. The budget planner is also a good tool. You can look at that and take off all the things you don't need or have to have at the wedding. Good rule of thumb.. keep it simple.

Congrats Brittany! I think the first thing you need to hear is, Don't Panic. :-)
Start looking at the checklist on this site, or others and just tackle them one by one.
Try to keep the stressing out to a minimum and just enjoy the planning process.
And I've found that most family and friends want to helpm they are just waiting to be asked. People don't want to feel like they are getting in your busniess, but I'm sure if you ask for help your family and wedding party will be there for you. :-)
