Wedding Vendors in College Park

Getting married near College Park. Use Banana's for your hair and makeup. They were able to do hair and make up for myself two bridesmaids, two flower girls, and one VIP guest in about three hours with two stylists. I was considering having hair and make-up done at the hotel where we were getting dressed, but chose lower cost over convenience. I was concerned that the morning would be hectic. In reality it was the most relaxing three hours before my wedding. Even if you are on a budget, and overwhelmed by the cost of on site hair and makeup consider Banana's. Their stylists are experienced and will have your bridal partying looking amazing. Even if I had more money in my budget for hair and makeup, knowing what I know now...I would still have chosen Banana's. Ask for Kathleen!!

We used a UMD Coach bus to transport the wedding party and families around campus for pictures. It was a big hit with the family and a great retreat from the July heat. I had originally considered a limo to suit our needs but found the bus to be significantly less expensive than a limo that would fit about 20 people. As there was a 4 hour rental minimum, we used the bus to transport guests from the hotel to the alumni center. Everyone was so impressed with the bus. At the end of the reception, we used a UMD Shuttle to move guests back to the hotel. They changed the signs on the bus to "Just Married!" which made for great pictures. Both drivers were excellent, courteous, and on-time. I would highly recommend using Shuttle-UM for wedding day transportation.

I and my bridesmaids and mom got our alterations done at Nikki's after trying all around the DC area and getting the most unreasonable prices for what were the most simple alterations for their dresses. My dress on the other hand I needed to completely change from a zip up back to a corsette back and Nikki did an excellent job on everything that she touched. I was very happy with her professionalism and the value of her work. I highly recommend her not only for alteration but for dresses because she had a lot of great items.

Words cannot even explain how amazing our experience with Sardis has been. Let me start off by saying Jessica is an absolute GEM. Throughout the entire process she was more than helpful. From sending me linen swatches, to staying connected since the first day we hired Sardis. We will forever recommend Sardis, because of how amazing she was. Now on to the food - I think I heard someone refer to the plate as a “Game of Thrones” serving. I have never seen that big of a plate even at a restaurant, not to mention how delicious the food was, we are still getting texts about it. Last but not least, the servers - I can’t tell you how nice each and every one of them was. They were all tentative, respectful and made sure our guests were happy. Jessica, we are eternally grateful for everything you did for us!!! Thank you so much!!!! Sardis, we were in love with you before but we’re even more in love after this experience!! BRAVO

I would recommend Jessica at Hocus Crocus in a heartbeat. After seeing the beautiful flowers she arranged at my sister's wedding last spring, I knew it was the way to go. Jessica was always responsive to emails, and held her composure when I wanted to switch some things at the last minute. I was worried it would be a problem, but she made it happen with a smile on her face. My flowers were absolutely stunning, and I couldn't have been happier. Hocus Crocus ROCKS.

Chef is an amazing man who is very hands on and so friendly in the entire process. He doesn't just specialize in one cuisine so he is able to caterer to all types of weddings. The food is so amazing and I'm so glad I chose them to be apart of my big day.

String of Pearls was the band for my Memorial Day May 28, 2018 outdoor garden boho brunch wedding! Since we love the violin and guitar instrumentals, so we hired their violin and guitar duo. Their work is highly admirable for the price. I worked with Susan, who has many decades of experience as a violinist. She is very professional and personable! She is very responsive to messages and was very easy to work with from day one and on all the details leading up to our wedding day! She is great at suggesting songs and offering feedback on the flow of songs for the procession, ceremony, and recession. I really wanted to hear Carla Bruni's song Quelqu'un m'a dit for the procession, and the duo learned it in no time. Lastly, I got married at the Woodend Nature Sanctuary in Chevy Chase, MD where the duo has experience playing there previously numerous times. Thus there was no need for a walk through given her familiarity with the venue.
