I chose Karen because the services she listed for the price fit perfectly in my budget. I'm a very Type A, list-making, bullet-pointing, need to be in control kind of girl so I didn't feel completely comfortable turning everything for my wedding over to anyone. I did a lot of the planning on my own and Karen served as a day of coordinator with a few extra things. She was great about tailoring a package for what I needed. As an out of town bride, it was nice having someone look into things for me. Highlights of Karen's service: helping me pick a rehearsal dinner location that was perfect, calling guests that did not RSVP (and there were a lot), always showing up early for appointments, picking up A LOT of wedding items for the reception setup, and taking them home with her afterwards (to be delivered to my parents later). Sometimes Karen was a bit slow in responding to emails but that was rare, and not enough for it to cause any delays in planning. Her assistant on our wedding day was great as well and even went to buy Red Bull for one of our signature drinks when it was accidentally left behind by a family member. They were both very friendly and easy to work with and even as a Type A bride, I felt comfortable turning the event over to Karen on that day.

Karen was the day-of coordinator for our wedding and was really great. She was there for the rehearsal the night before, as well as for the entire wedding day. She did everything we needed her to do. From fixing broken buttons on a groomsmen's tux, to dealing with the florist when the flowers were completely wrong, she was there helping out. She is definitely worth the money and the peace of mind that everything will go smoothly. I am very detailed oriented type of person, and she definitely met my expectations. She followed all of the specifications for the decor and timeline and everything else. If you are more of a "go with the flow" type person, she will be a lifesaver, keeping everyone on time and organized. She met with us twice before the wedding to go over details, driving all the way to the city to meet us, and was always available by email anytime I had a question. For full disclosure, if I have to go into any small let downs, it would be that: a.) she didn't ask us if it was okay to give out the tips to our vendors that we gave her to hold on to (as she previously said she would do) and b.) she did not ask us if she could use pictures from the wedding, instead she went directly to the photographer. These are minor issues and would not prevent me from recommending True Companion Weddings. Karen was amazing and I have no regrets booking her for our wedding.

Karen and Sandy were wonderful. They were very attentive to my needs. I had an emergency concerning a problem with a photographer 2-3 weeks before my wedding. Karen was on the phone talking to photography studios to find me a special one. My wedding was on a holiday weekend no less. They were very professional and down to earth. I would recommend them to anyone.

When my first Wedding Planner suddenly had to move to a different state month before my wedding my first reaction was" oh my what am I going to do now". However; she recommended Karen Brennan from True Companion Weddings and i very thankfull for that. Karen contacted me right away and we met shortly after to discuss all the details. She is very professional at what she is doing. I didn't have to worry about anything on the day of my wedding. I would strongly recommend her services to anyone.

Karen was fabulous. Professional, detail oriented, a real partner on the wedding day. Was happy to have her there. She was recommended to me by a friend. As a note, she returned my initial call after two days. She called me from the hospital where she was resting after giving birth for the first time. Um. Okay, you're hired. She's got great initiative. I wish her the best of luck!

We hired Karen mainly for the "Day of" services along with help addressing invites, etc. Things changed several times in terms of what we were going to have her do and she was very accommodating with that. We had her make several things like table numbers and name tags and those all came out great. However she was very difficult to get ahold of until we were pretty close to our wedding. Simple questions resulted in week long waits for an email response early on. My wife ended doing some of the research Karen was supposed to do because of some of this. She really stepped things up later on, but unfortunately I have to account for the whole experience.

I picked probably one of the busiest wedding dates of the year! To make things a little more interesting, I reside in Florida but wanted to have my wedding back home in Chicago since most of my family lives there. Having a planner that was going to be remote honestly scared me a little, but Karen quickly took that worry away. Her response time was impeccable for our phone consultation, and she was very knowledgeable. We had 2 phone consults and 1 in person when I was able to make it up for a weekend, and she came up with a great schedule for events leading up to the big day. The day of my wedding I was really stressing out, but she helped throughout the day and kept things running smoothly. Karen made sure that the wedding parties knew when the ceremony was beginning, and she directed the guests to the place cards table and made sure the vendors were meeting expectations at the reception. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an affordable and efficient wedding planner. She had a great attitude and was very easy to talk to, but was very professional at the same time.
