Found a perfect dress at a better price than elsewhere. Personal attention given when trying on the dresses. Recommended it to a friend, who also bought her dress there.
The best customer service, dresses, and prices in town. I was very pleased with my experience. I went to six other shops in the area. Fairy Godmothers was by far the most enjoyable experience. They worked with in my budget and made excellent suggestions for my body type. On my big day everyone told me that my dress was perfect. Thank you so much.
This was by far the worst wedding dress experience I had. In fact it was the only bad experience I had. Upon walking into the store we were greeted by the owner who does look a bit like your fairy tale fairy godmother. I as excited as she asked me what I like, what I don't like, and what I wanted. I was an clear as possible giving distinct details on what we had found so far. I mentioned we found one I really liked but chose not to purchase because we wanted to continue to look. This was my first mistake though I did not realize until later
I was whisked into a changing room where I was instructed to take off my closes and put on a bustier that came out of a drawer (was it clean, I don't know.) She and two other women watched me take off my dress and put the bustier on me. All the while the fairy was making unprofessional and unflattering comments about my body. I am a size six, not incredibly fit, but not over weight. I was already uncomfortable being half naked with three fully dressed women. She slipped a dress on me that I did not pick and told me I was not aloud to dress myself. She then proceeded to make more comments about my body. I looked in the mirror and said nothing. She asked if I liked it and I said no and walked out to show my mom and friend. She asked what I didn't like and I said I hate this flower and pointed to it. She asked what I liked and didn't like and I told her a couple things. I was very specific. She then started rattling off a bunch of other bridal stores and then interrogating me on why I did not purchase the dress. The she insulted me and started treating me like I was a rich brat because of the place the other dress was from. I asked why she was telling me all these other places and she said she thought I should go there because she puts a lot of time and energy into picking dresses and she does not want to work with someone who hates ALL her dresses and everything about them. Mind you I said I hated the flower. I apologized for offending her and she stormed off.
After I undresses, with the help of two sales associates who clearly seemed embarrassed, I walked out and again apologized. She said nothing. I am completely shocked at this grown woman's behavior. Clearly I was not insulting her, rather saying what I like and wanted. She acted like a child and failed to see any folly in her ways. I sincerely hope that no one else has an experience like this. I was completely uncomfortable from the moment I stepped into the dressing room on. Fairy Godmothers was anything but a fairy tale!
Fairy Godmother's had great selection of bridal gowns and they were very personable I found the most beautiful dress and received so many compliments on it all throughout my wedding
If you have a mind of your own, this is NOT the store for you. The owner treats you like you like a complete incompetent--you neither pick out the dresses you try on nor dress yourself. I guess if you're an 18 year old bride, you may need that kind of treatment, but a grown woman deserve to be treated like an adult. You will not find that here.
The owner is really nice till she has your money then she does a complete 180° Not only was she rude and ignorant to me but also to her employees. She lost the veil I already paid for. Admitted she lied and told her employee to be quiet when trying to resolve the situation. Fairy godmother is the last name I would call this owner. Luckily I found the perfect veil at Frenze that the owner of Fairy godmothers said didnt even exist.
I had a wonderful experience shopping at Fairy Godmother's Bridal. They really know what they are doing. It might be hard to trust at first, but they have worked with many different brides and really know what will work best for your body type. In the end the decision is yours though. I was able to get my dress within 2 weeks. I believe that is faster than normal, but I was in the right place at the right time. I love the dress. I didn't think I would end up with and Ivory dress and a very fitted bodice... I didn't think that would work best with my body type, but when they suggested I try the dress on, it looked AMAZING. I felt they had a very good selection, especially if you are looking for a dress with sleeves. The shop is run out of a home, so it is not like a boutique type of store. Having it at a home is part of what keeps the cost of the dresses down. I would recommend this place to my friends, and if I had to do it again I would go there first.
I had the worst experience from this woman. I ordered my dress 4 months before my wedding and she told me she could get my dress in before Christmas. I called her a total of twice, and the second time I called it was a week before Christmas and she told me my dress wasn't there and wasn't able to tell me why it wasn't. She also told me that the dress was not going to be in until 4 or 5 days before my wedding and that I did not need to get my bridal pictures done because they were not important. She also wanted me to pay for extra shipping charges to get the dress in the day before New Years. She was very unprofessional and I found a beautiful dress almost identical to the dress I had wanted at David's Bridal for $400 cheaper!
This was not one of "my brides." We work by appointment and she showed up without one. She was looking for accessories and took approximately an hour picking everything out and then left. She came back a couple of days later for a hoop when I was working with a new bride. I did not have the time to spend with her assuring her the drawstring would work for sizes 2-16 and the length would be fine. My brides receive lower prices on accessories if they purchase their gown here. She did not like the $10 higher price. I had to get back to my bride as I promise them undivided attention.
I wonder why she just didn't buy all her accessories where she purchased her gown???
she got me the wrong size dress and it was a pain to alter. when i went to pick up my dress i told her what time we would be there. when i got there my dress was still in the shipping bag and she never steamed it. it was included in the price that dress would be steamed 3 times... my mother in law ended up steaming it an hour before my wedding. it was a huge hassel.
If you are looking for a wedding gown, don't make your final decision until you try out this shop first. My experience was excellent. This was the first place I went, and I was ready to buy the dress but my mother wasn't with me and wanted me to try other shops, So I did. The whole time I kept thinking about how much better the dresses were at Fairy Godmothers and how much better the service was. They literally lift the gowns off and on you so you don't have to do anything but look in the mirror and decide. I tried on so many different types of dresses in a short amount of time so when I chose the dress, there was no doubt in my mind which one I wanted. She gave me a folder with a bunch of really useful information like how to change your name, how to have a successful marriage, and stuff like that. The alteration lady she referred me to was really good for a small price! I would refer any friend or stranger to Fairy Godmothers bridal!
Great value! The dress and veil I found at Fairy Godmothers was significantly more at another local dress shop. Judy was wonderful to work with and even hand delivered my freshly steamed dress to me at my nail salon when I was running late on the day of my bridals. What a wonderful experience! I have recommended Fairy Godmothers to several engaged friends and will continue to do so!
i would reccommend anyone to shop for their wedding gown with her. She made the experience enjoyable and easy. She was by far the best wedding gown shop out of the 8 I went to. I would reccomend to only go to her because it will save you time and money!!
I was having a hard time finding a dress to fit me. I am a plus size and I'm very short. Every where I had gone, they were all way to much detail and wanted a lot to alter my dress. I found this little place and the service was great. I found my dress and my shoes and my slip and garter all for $180. I can't tell you how happy I was about that. I did buy my shoes and I never tried them on which was my fault. I did ask if I could exchange and they won't exchange or return anything. I love my dress!
We have an "overstock" and consignment store at 4014 South Highland called Angell's Originals. To receive this much merchandise I think it had to be from that location. I don't want brides to feel misled when they come to Fairy Godmother's and find the prices are not that low.
We have the latest, greatest at Fairy Godmother's. Angell's Originals has what would be our "sale" rack. Beautiful gowns that haven't sold as fast and I don't have room for them with all the new things coming in all the time.
Fairy Godmother's bridal was the best place I went to. I loved the fact that she Picked a handful of dresses and had you try them on because it opens your eyes to something you may not have picked. My dress was so gorgeous. It was perfect for me. Very affordable too. I loved it so much, I brought my sister-in-law to her and she bought her wedding dress there also. Thank you so much, my dress was so beautiful, you and were such a big help!
She was incredible. I got to try on every gown I wanted. She helped with the fitting and she was great. The owner is who you want to work with. I think her assistant didn't give my friend quite as good experience (not that it was bad, she just didn't seem to know dresses very well). But the owner was incredible. And I got a great price for an absolutely gorgeous dress. SHe seriously has the best prices around with seriously good selection. It is a smaller selection than other stores, but she has a great variety.
My mom had heard from several people that Fairy Godmother Bridal was the best place to go. We arrived at her house and her and her assistant were very nice. I tried on several dresses in a short amount of time which was nice. However I felt like the owner wasn't listening to what I wanted. Everything I told I wanted in a dress she said I didn't. Eventually she brought out the exact dress I wanted. She told me she wasn't going to show it to me because she didn't have my size. We later found out that she was fighting with the company that made them and didn't want to call them. She did and I got my perfect dress...after sticking to my guns! Also every time her assistant would talk to us she would look in the mirror and stare at herself. It was like she was talking to herself. Overall though, her prices are somewhat reasonable and the lady she referred us to for alterations was really nice and really cheap!
Judy, here. I don't "fight" with companies. There could have been some dispute but I can't think of what that would have been. I have had one vendor that I don't like dealing with at all, but haven't used them for a couple of years.
I have a lot of inventory in the modest gowns and "contempory" size 12 and up. As retailers in Utah we have to step out on a limb to have gowns for brides whose weddings are mostly within three months. Not only do we have the have lots of styles and sizes, but now either white or ivory. Because I have been willing to use this business model, I don't remember having to turn a bride away because I could not get a gown for her.
You get concentrated, personalized service when you come to me. Most brides and mothers love it--we do the work. And enjoy it too!
