Darren Pellegrino photographed our wedding and also did our engagement photos... a family friend referred him to me. All my girlfriends used the same photographer for their weddings and each one of their albums resembled eachothers...the typical poses and group shots... I wanted something different, creative and new... Darren was it. His work is incredible - he has such an amazing eye. Our photos are art - I love the creative angles, contrasts in colors and playful poses he put us in. We were beyond thrilled with our engagement shots and our wedding pictures are phenomenal too.. could not have asked for more!
Darren was also so calm, friendly and up for anything we threw at him for ideas - but also very professional, always emailed me back right away and was very prompt with our meetings.

After researching the different wedding photography options out there and the packages available, I was very happy to come upon Darren Pellegrino Photography. The artistic interpretation of his work caught my eye immediately and I reached out for more information. Darren responded within hours with a phone call and email. We discussed what I was looking for and his wedding packages. I hung up feeling good, but being as cost conscientious as I am with our wedding budget, I interviewed a few other photographers, but didn't come away as good as I felt with Darren. When my (now) husband and I met with Darren, he was very easy going and was not pushy at all, but all the while giving us his thoughts and ideas to consider. We agreed that our search had ended and booked him after our meeting.

As part of our package, we had an engagement shoot. Darren and his wife were pleasant and professional to work with. We had lots of fun doing this and it was great to get an idea of what it would be like on the day of the wedding. Two or three days later, we got the first of our photos back and we were more assured that we made the right choice going with Darren. We loved the engagement photos and received lots of compliments on them.

The day of the wedding came and Darren and his wife showed up on time and started shooting away. They were very unobtrusive and I didn't even notice as they mingled in and took photos. They were very accommodating with everyone and very kind. As a bride, I was very happy to not worry about if my photographer was doing his job and taking pictures. They took all the usual shots of the dresses, flowers, ring, etc. I also liked that each bridesmaid got her own close up shot. Darren definitely has an eye for backgrounds and shots that I though was questionable came out beautiful and very artsy. I had over 2000 photos! It was wonderful to go through them and see what was going on around us when we weren't able to be everywhere at once. Darren and his wife did a fabulous job capturing the day and we love our pictures. The tough thing to do now is pick out one picture to use for our thank you card!

Darren is a really great photographer! looking at the photos it felt like we were living the whole day all over again, every moment was captured. He and his wife worked really well together, we didn't have a lot of time to take pictures because of the time schedule at the venue but he did great with the amount of time we had. The photos were beautiful. He sent them all in color and black and white, and set up a website we could share with family and friends, makes it so easy. :)

Darren was great! We weren’t the most comfortable couple in front of the camera, but he made us feel comfortable and relaxed. He was always prompted to return our calls and email. (And there were a lot!) On the wedding day he really helped to keep everything organized and relaxed. Also his quality of work is exceptional. Darren and Beth were such a pleasure to work with. They are such a relaxed fun couple we knew they would be perfect to shoot our big day. They are so creative and are always looking for that "special" shot. They made sure to take every important picture that we wanted at the wedding and our formals came out AMAZING! I very much enjoyed working with Darren and his team. They were kind, thoughtful and prepared, before and after the event. The photographs were amazing; they captured lots of important moments. I love the documentary style approach, however looking back, I really wish we had had more direction and instruction; smile, turn this way, hand here. One of the great things about Darren is his gentle, unobtrusive approach to photography. However, for me, as a bride I could not even think straight, I needed a bit more in terms of creative directions and ideas.

Despite not having a lot of time, Darren was very good about covering a wide range. I do wish we had had more opportunity for a variety of different kinds of couple poses. I should have had the forethought to provide a list of what I wanted and confirmed that the standard shots - centerpieces, flowers, decorations, venue elements, train, were going to be taken. They took so many pictures, which is really nice for revisiting the entire day. However I feel like there are gaps in the story, which may be a result of not enough time or communication from me.
We are very happy we chose Darren for our photographer. He has a keen eye for great moments, and an even better eye for those sweet small ones that people often miss. His team does a good job with the details but since they are both shooting, it may be a good idea to nominate a bridesmaid or mom.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use Darren again. In fact my maid of honor was recently engaged and liked Darren so much from my wedding is considering him for hers. Now there is a product endorsement!
