While I normally fancy myself one with words, it is truly hard to put into a review how amazing our wedding at Westwood Country Club and how fantastic the entire experience was. Our wedding planning was a bit unorthodox, as we reserved the date over two years in advanced before we were engaged. However, we knew Westwood would be the perfect location and we wanted to secure the date far in advanced. Once we got to less than a year out, we worked very closely with Janie Mathieson to plan our dream wedding.

Janie was always available to talk, meet, or email, and she did a fantastic job laying out everything we would need to make the wedding work and a timeline for us to follow. This was so helpful, as I had no idea really where to start on certain things. She helped recommend florists, chair vendors, and anything else we needed for the big day.

Getting closer to the event, we worked very close with her for certain things we wanted to make sure we had. For instance, my husband and I are very into craft beer, and Janie was able to take our list of our favorite beers (from all over the world) and secure a great selection for the day of. Another example of how hard Janie and everyone at Westwood worked was certain requests I had related to décor. Since we were getting married around Christmas time, and Westwood hosts many Christmas parties and events, I asked Janie if we could move some of the décor in order to not clash with our wedding and because it was a Jewish wedding. Janie and I talked about this many times before the week of. Even the day before the wedding, Janie took me around the ballroom and showed me everything they were going to do to make sure things were out of the way and still worked for our wedding. Since the weather was also not looking good, Janie took me around the venue to show where we could take indoor or covered photos if it came to that. I felt really lucky that she was willing to do this and felt incredibly confident that everything would go well.

On the day of, Janie and her staff did an amazing job. Janie was great at keeping everyone on track, both for photos, timing, and the flow of the event. The sun came out just in time for outdoor photos and the golf course and beautiful stone that Westwood has was the perfect backdrop. The staff at Westwood did a fantastic job setting everything up for both the ceremony and the dinner.

Part of me thinks it goes without saying, but the food was absolutely to die for. Nothing beats Westwood food and it was even better than what you would get in the dinning room, which is already pretty amazing. All of our guests were talking about it and I was so happy. We also have about 10 guests that were Vegan, so it was super easy to come up with alternatives for them to eat.

Overall, the night would not have been the same if it weren’t at Westwood. It was such a perfect evening and I really want to thank Janie and the staff at Westwood for making it so special.

Westwood went above and beyond my expectations! I worked with Janie and she is amazing. She answered all emails so quickly and set the venue up so perfectly. Her team was amazing as well. Couldn’t have picked a better place to have our wedding reception!

The Westwood Country Club was fantastic from start to finish!
The newly built patio was great for our ceremony, with a view over greenery and space for everyone. The bar was a warm space for a standing cocktail hour, which encouraged folks to mix and mingle. The ballroom was large enough for our reception without feeling cavernous, with lovely chandeliers and views. Finding a space with natural surroundings so close to a metro station is not an easy feat in this area, especially at a reasonable price point.
The food was plentiful and delicious, far better than we had any expectation of. Many of our guests had dietary restrictions that were accommodated without comment or incident. 180 meals came out perfectly cooked in a short time. The staff were attentive and on point all night.
But perhaps the best part of the whole experience was working with Janie. From the moment we inquired until after the event, Janie was top notch and made the experience so much easier for us. She was kind, helpful, and a calming influence in the stressful time of wedding planning. She responded to every question and request with remarkable speed and was perpetually accommodating. She always (I think with one reasonable exception) gave the answer we wanted to hear.
There is nothing more we could have asked for from the Westwood Country Club.

Janie and her team were so amazing. It was everything we could’ve asked for and then some. The decor, the SIGN (!!!), the food, everything was truly perfect. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making the happiest day of our lives unforgettable.

We could not be happier with our wedding reception experience on 5/15/21 at Westwood CC. The location is easy to Tyson's Corner & the Beltway. The ballroom is beautiful overlooking the manicured golf course. The food is top quality & the staff professional & courteous. Mrs. Janie Mathieson, Dir F&B, is a gem - positive, resourceful and knowledgeable.

Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA was the PERFECT venue for my daughter’s wedding reception in September 2020, and Janie Mathieson was an angel on my shoulder! She graciously guided us through the wedding reception planning during an incredibly challenging pandemic environment. Her professionalism and sound advice were so helpful in addition to her great vendor recommendations. She was very accessible and responsive to phone calls and emails, and every question that came up. We were in her very capable hands from beginning to end.
The ballroom was exquisite with gorgeous chandeliers and a beautiful ornate mirror where the wedding cake was displayed. The room was the perfect size to allow proper social distancing measures to be followed, and the balconies provided not only breathtaking views of the golf course, but also a safe place for guests to go if they felt more comfortable spending some time outside. The very large ballroom made our dream wedding reception as originally planned possible, because it allowed for fewer people to be seated at the tables, and yet the elegance of the room made it feel so intimate and comfortable. We received many compliments from guests who were impressed by the spectacular room and décor.
The food was delicious! We enjoyed having a choice for the menu and served the filet mignon and marinated chicken, with a vegetarian option. Our guests raved about the food selections and enjoyed the variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres.
The weather was so perfect that day and my daughter and her husband could take photos outside on the scenic golf course, and on a very picturesque stone bridge that looked magical. And part of the fun was they rode a golf cart to the location for the lovely outdoor photos. Some beautiful photos were also taken outside the entrance of the Club in the romantic evening light.
The location was so convenient as it was just about 20 minutes from the church and 10 minutes from hotels and other great amenities in the Tysons area. Our guests loved the convenience of the Club and the ease of getting there from the church and hotels.
Janie and her staff were gracious, attentive, and kept the evening flowing nicely. We felt like we were in such good hands and didn’t have to worry about any of the details. They were very flexible with last minute changes and the service was superb. We want to thank Janie and her A+ team for a most memorable wedding at the perfect, elegant venue – we believe one of the very best in the DMV area!!

Janie was an absolute delight to work with when we had to re-envision our wedding in July 2020. The service was incredible and we received so many compliments on how smoothly everything went! I could not recommend Westwood CC and Janie's all-star team enough!

Westwood helped make the wedding of our dreams a reality! Janie was super flexible and accommodating when we shared our vision of the day. From food /beverage selection to floor layout and catering service the day of, Janie and her team knocked it out of the park. We got so much positive feedback from our guests on how good the food was and how great the catering service was. I believe Westwood has one of the best ballrooms in the DMV area.
