Karin’s Florist is a contemporary wedding florist in the Washington, D.C. area for couples seeking the perfect blooms on their big day. This florist works with couples to bring their visions to life in full color, with overflowing bouquets, lush decor, and delicate petals. The company also helps couples find their own creative vision when they feel lost in the process. This ensures that each wedding becomes a fairytale.
This florist opened in 1956 as a business owned by Bill Dukas and his father-in-law George Raptis. They worked weddings of a much different style when they began their business. The trends of the time included elaborate fountains of water, strictly modest dress codes, and wedding cakes with bridge structures. Though the times have certainly changed for many couples since that era, the principles held by Karin’s Florist still ring true. This business also combines trust and expertise with beauty and originality to make dreams come true for happy couples.
Couples will find assistance through every step of the wedding process when working with this florist, now run by Bill’s daughter, Maris Angolia. The team offers consultations, samples, and a venue visit in order to plan their design and their arrangements. For the wedding day itself, the staff offers delivery, setup, and cleanup of the flowers. No matter the style of wedding couples desire, the team at Karin’s Florist can design it. They create vintage and classic arrangements, modern and eclectic arrangements, even nautical or rustic floral arrangements. Each piece will reflect the day’s romance and the love the couple has for one another. Their arrangements include:

I met with Bryan to discuss our initial ideas. Orchids, tropical, pinks, purples, and greens. He was wonderful to work with. When we ended up spending more on other items, we had to cut our flower budget. Bryan worked with us to decide on the cuts. We ended up keeping all the personal flowers (bouquets, bouts, etc.) in the order. They arrived that morning, right on time, for our pictures. They were absolutely beautiful!! Gorgeous!! I highly recommend this florist. It's so worth it.Sent on 05/24/2012
On a side note: I even ended up deciding to have the flowers preserved since they were so gorgeous! :) I'll review that vendor as well once I see the finished product!

A Deco Dream Come True
My family has been using Karin’s florist for as long as I can remember for any special occasion. When it came time to pick a florist for my wedding, I knew in the back of my mind it would likely be Karin’s. However, when we had our initial meeting with their Creative Director Bryan that is what absolutely sold me. Before our meeting they asked for any details we had about our wedding, including any pinterest pages we created. At the time, I had an idea of colors I liked and had pinned similar things. However, it wasn’t until I met with Bryan that he was able to pinpoint the deco inspired theme that I was interested in and within minutes pull out pictures of flowers and inspiration he envisioned. His creativity was so inspiring and I felt absolutely excited for what was to come.
Bryan and the rest of the team at Karin’s worked with us to make sure we had everything covered and so that we could stay within a reasonable budget. We had a follow up meeting a few months before the wedding where Bryan shared examples of what he was planning, which was very comforting to see it in person before the big day. They were flexible with us when we added a few things last minute that we had not though about, and they didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond for what we wanted.
To really complete the deco inspired black, white, and gold theme, Bryan designed my bouquet to be all white flowers, with the Stephanopoulos flower (similar to my name) where he glued pearls inside the center of the flowers. This was beyond my wildest dream. To compliment the gold accent of our wedding, he spray painted leaves and used them as an accent for my bouquet and the décor in our chuppah and throughout the venue. They also were willing to have both tall and shorter centerpieces for the table, utilizing the amazing black and gold vases Karin’s has for events. Finally, they worked with us to add flowers to the cake, which we didn’t decide to do till the last minute.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. They were professional, accommodating, and completely made the event spectacular! Bryan is a creative genius and I am so thankful he made my dream flowers that I didn’t even realize were my dream come true!

A must have on your wedding day!
This florist was the absolute best for our wedding! Karin’s was willing to work within our budget and made our reception space look amazing. I explained my classic, timeless style and color scheme – ivory and navy blue - to Bryan and with his guidance the reception space was elevated with elegant, soft floral arrangements with accents of blush and greenery. I wanted a bouquet that resembled my mother’s (which included a family heirloom Bible from her mother), and Bryan created a bouquet that was unlike anything I have ever seen. I was blown away by his vision and creativity! Karin’s Florist is a must for your wedding day – they know what they are doing!Sent on 10/26/2019

Karin's Florist is EXCELLENT! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and photographing all their beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, arrangements and chuppah display at a wedding in May 2012. I would recommend them to anyone! See photos from the gorgeous May wedding here: http://www.jessicaschmittphotography.com/blog/2012/05/georgetown-glamour/
