How many photographers do you work with?
Paul and Brenda typically work as a team, and their work reflects both their unique artistic view, and their shared love for beautiful, emotional story-telling in pictures

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Who you hire is who you get -- we never subcontract. We believe you should get the photographers whose work you see in the studio's portfolio.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We never shoot more than one event per day.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
In order to guarantee a replacement, we would have to hire a "backup" wedding photographer of equivalent skill and experience, and have them not book their own weddings -- instead, sit by the phone with bags packed every day we have a wedding scheduled. This would essentially double the cost of our service. It's the only way. And we know of NO photographers who do this! That being said, we have a great relationship with many other wedding photographers, and in the case of illness or some other issue, have many resources to draw on. And in all our years of shooting weddings, we have never been late or missed a wedding!

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Brenda and Paul each carry two cameras and a complete range of lenses and flashes. In addition, we bring a complete spare system in case of equipment failure. We keep our equipment new and up-to-date: for the 2009 wedding season, we are shooting with Nikon D700 and Canon 40D cameras (Two of each).

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, we have spares of every piece of equipment used at the wedding, ensuring a seamless transition in the case of malfunction.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
We are very flexible. For small, simple weddings we can charge by the hour. For more traditional weddings, we make ourselves available for the entire day. We have a package for every budget and need!

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Yes, because we only book one event per day, we are always able to come early and stay late if required. Overtime charges depend on the package selected.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Very few -- if something is happening, we are there to cover it!

Do you charge for travel?
Varies, depending on package selected and time of year. We never charge for travel in our immediate area. Inquire for further distances - we try hard to be very price-competitive!

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Generally, the proofs are available for proofing in a couple of days to a week after the wedding; at the end of the wedding season, it can take up to a week.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are available on our website, and can be immediately downloaded or viewed by family and friends. You can also order prints in a wide range of sizes at reasonable prices, directly from our web site. We also offer a proof book option.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofs are available on our web site for about one year. If you purchase a proof book, it is yours to keep forever.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
While we retain the copyright to the photos, we give you a usage license that allows you to print, publish, distribute, and use the photos in any way you like, forever, with no need for further payment to or permission from us. The only thing we ask you not to do is sell the images for the commercial use of a third party.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Unless you request that we not do so, we ask you for the right to use pictures from your wedding as examples of of our work. Without this right, no photographer could show you samples of their work.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes, we provide high resolution digital files on CD or DVD, along with a usage license permitting you to use them.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, images are available on our online website, and can be either public so that all your guests and relatives can view them, or private in a password-protected gallery.

What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer hard-cover coffee-table albums with beautiful magazine-style layout in a variety of sizes and page counts.

When will the client get the final album?

Tips and Advice
When evaluating photographers, don't just look at a portfolio of random pictures from many different weddings. Any photographer who has shot enough weddings will have some outstanding pictures -- a couple from this one, a couple more from that one. Instead, ask to see at least two or three portfolios of entire weddings. This will give you a feel for whether the photographer consistently produces great images of all phases of a single wedding.
