We cannot say enough good things about Emily, our photographer! She was an absolute joy to work with from the moment we first spoke. Emily has an incredible talent for capturing not just photos, but genuine moments and emotions. She took the time to understand our personalities and the kind of photos we wanted, and the results were beyond anything we could have imagined.

From engagement to wedding day, she was a calming and reassuring presence, expertly directing us and our families to get the best shots while making the entire process feel natural and fun. She was everywhere at once, capturing all the big moments and beautiful small details without ever being intrusive.

When we saw our final photos, we were completely blown away. The images are breathtaking, and they perfectly tell the story of our day. We will cherish them forever! Emily photographed our engagement pictures and our wedding last year, and there is no way we can fully express how grateful we are for her! From our first meeting with her, we felt like we had a friend and cheerleader hyping us up throughout the at-times stressful process of wedding planning, and we instantly knew that our day would be captured with expertise and care. Neither my husband or I are naturally comfortable in front of cameras, and she allowed us to feel confident and at ease. There were several moments on the morning of the wedding day where I was feeling overwhelmed, and Emily would just smile and encourage me to breathe and take a minute for myself; it was just the encouragement I needed, and she was invaluable to have with us on such an important day. We are in love with our photos and could not be happier with how Em captured us and our favorite people!

Emily offered a ton of knowledge and helped us know what to expect and how things would work! She snapped away, and didn’t make anyone, even my most camera shy family members feel uncomfortable. That’s a hard ask!

My partner and I secretly eloped during the pandemic. Our priority wasn’t to spend money on a large ceremony but to take those funds and have a photographer capture those special moments as a newlywed couple. I reached out to a few different photographers, and upon talking to Emily, I knew she was the right choice. I knew I wanted the photos to take place at Rainier. Emily made the planning process extremely easy. Not only was it apparent we were in capable hands it also eased my nerves finding a photographer who was so excited at our idea of an authentic “adventure” photoshoot. We hit the trail at 4 am, and Emily was a joy to spend the entire day with. I’ll be the first to say I am not someone who likes to have their photo taken, but I could not imagine a more organic experience. After the first few minutes, it felt like my husband and me on a hike with an old friend taking some photos.

I don’t even know where to begin! I started planning my elopement about 1.5 years out. As an out of town bride, I really had no clue who to go with. No one to asked for recommendations! But, luckily for us, I stumbled upon Emily Skye Photography. I saw her portfolio and knew she would be down for an adventure! I had my heart set on getting married in front of a waterfall - with as few people present as possible. Emily (also being ordained) was an excellent choice. Over the course of the year and a half of planning, Emily was there every step of the way. She even hiked the trail and filmed it, so we could see what we were getting ourselves into. She met with me several times (via zoom) to walk me through timelines. She even gave us a box to mail my dress home after the ceremony! We literally had sneaks before we even sat down to dinner that night! I can’t say enough how wonderful she is! She captured some beautiful moments that I know we will cherish for the rest of our lives! I’m almost sad that our wedding is over because I feel like I’m losing a friend! I can’t recommend her enough, especially for those who are a little adventurous!

Emily was a joy to work with from start to finish! She is a talented artist who is a lovely blend of professional and personable. She was great at putting me at ease and helping me feel more comfortable in front of the camera. My husband and I loved getting the "sneak peek" photos while on our honeymoon! We are in love with our photos and our family was so impressed with them that my brother and sister in law wanted her to take their wedding photos as well! Bonus: she also has energy that is fun to be around and work with!

We hired Emily from a recommendation by our wedding coordinator and we were impressed with her website and her photography style. She helped craft the most perfect vignettes for photos to tell a story! She even sent us a link to an early sneak peak gallery within 3 days of the big day.
