She is an amazing communicator and got to know us during our engagement shoot so that she could know exactly how to shoot us on our wedding. Day of, she was wonderful. She was polite but in command of our large group. She was so creative with her directions and every single vision came to life perfectly. When we got the sneak peak photos back, we were in tears. If you're looking for a wedding photographer, or any photographer- stop and book Susan! Susan was the first vendor we booked for our wedding, which was at the Surf Club on the Sound on December 10, 2022. We met Susan through my husband's brother, who booked her for his wedding. Immediately after meeting Susan and her team, we knew that we had to book them for our own wedding.

Susan and her team's professionalism, vision, and quality is unmatched. Our engagement photo session in Central Park last November was out of an autumnal fairy tale. Susan immediately made us comfortable with posing and being around other people and the pictures truly speak for themselves. They are absolutely stunning.

Susan is constantly available and she always managed to calm me down when it came to any issue that came up for the wedding-- whether it be wedding timeline, locations, decor, etc. On the wedding day itself, Susan and her team came on time and everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. Susan was my own advocate when she realized I did not want Christmas decor for my wedding portraits-- she worked with the wedding venue in a subtle way that did not stress me out to truly help my photo vision come to life at the last minute. This would not have happened without Susan and her team's support and advocacy!!!

My journey with Susan Shek started several years before my wedding in 2022.

She photographed our City Hall elopement in 2018 and captured the event flawlessly. Several postponements later, our wedding finally happened, and she was a resource through it all.

Susan executed and directed with the highest level of professionalism and care. She has an eye for detail, a knack for coordination, and was never anxious or worried (even when I was having a minor freak-out)! Instead, she exudes "I've got this" energy which is what you want (and need) from a wedding photographer.

We also worked with Sung June (videographer) and Kevin (second photographer), who are phenomenal in their own right!

I don’t even know where to start. Really. From the beginning to the end Susan save our buts more times than she should have. She truly is more than a wedding photographer, Susan is a friend you can lean on, a keen eye for all things detail in the wedding, the one person you can talk to help you resolve thing, all of our wedding guest though she was the planner. Everyone including us were obsessed with Susan’s attention to detail, kindness and skills. She was on top of everything at all times and stepped up for everything. She kept us sane, looked out for my dress and made sure I was always looking good. Never seen something like this. She loves what she does and takes care of the Bride and Groom. Thanks to her we avoided major disasters during our wedding in ITALY. If you’re getting married you NEED Susan. PERIOD. Susan exceeded all of our expectations of a wedding photographer. First of all the pictures of our event were unbelievably beautiful and my husband and I will cherish them forever. She sent us a sneak peak with almost 100 photos two days after and all of our wedding photos were sent to us less than 3 weeks later! We also are so happy we went with the photobooth provided by Susan's team as the photos were gorgeous and our guests loved it. Beyond the photos Susan was so helpful in the whole wedding planning process. She was my go to for any wedding related questions and she gave such good advice. She really made my husband and I feel like we were a priority. We hired Susan as our wedding photographer for our late September date. Susan was great to work with: she really helped us map out the timeline of events and made sure we got all the pictures we needed with each iteration of family and friends. We first got a sense of how Susan would handle folks during our engagement shoot in early Spring. Susan was the perfect mix of artistic yet efficient, she kept us on task while finding all the little moments worth capturing. She also helped us stream the event live on Zoom: that was huge for our far-flung family to be able to participate. Her and her assistant captured so many great moments and the turnaround time was super prompt: we had some sneak peaks within a few days and all of our final photos within 3 weeks. We even got a summary video of the ceremony and reception and we were blown away with the quality.

Susan was a dream to work with! Though, it definitely helped that she knew our wedding venue well (620 Loft & Garden) she was helpful and willing to give suggestions on how to put together an entire wedding in an event space as unique as 620 Loft & Garden. We found so many great reviews on the knot but they were 100% validated when we did our engagement photo shoot with her. My husband and I are in no way photogenic people. She made the process a breeze and quickly found the best ways to highlight our love in the form of photography while making us look good too!
