Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
The digital world has opened up all sorts of possibilities - b&w, super saturated color, spot coloring, sepia toning...the list goes on!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Luckily for me, my education and experience has taught me techniques for dealing with all sorts of lighting situations. However, I try to use natural light whenever possible!
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital, but it's always nice to hear the hum of film rewinding!
How many photographers do you work with?
I work alone or with a second photographer.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes I do! That is one of the benefits of owning a small studio.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Not in one day, but occasionally I will take 2 on a weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, God forbid! It hasn't happened yet and I just knocked on wood.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I shoot on a Canon 5D, but in my bag there are always 2 flashes, 2 back-up camera bodies, several lenses, lots of memory cards...batteries!
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes!
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full Day
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I am with you all day; if you take a break, that's when I take a break!
Do you charge for travel?
Only if travel exceeds a certain distance.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Depending on the season, your web gallery will be online between 3 and 5 weeks after your event. Of course, I always try to get it up there faster!
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Initially through a website, and then 4x6 prints are made.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever!
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
No, the copyright becomes property of the client.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
I do, for my website and any advertising that I may do.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
The digital files become property of the clients. I keep several copies for my use as well, and in case there are any issues.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes for 3 months.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Flush and Traditional
When will the client get the final album?
It's up to the client when we begin working on the album. I encourage clients to begin thinking about what photos they want as they become ready to jump back into it!
