About
Marc Wilner Wedding Services, a division of Washington Talent Photo and Video offer a boutique experience for the discerning bride and groom blended with the convenience and security of working with a multi-specialty company. We focus on four key areas for your reception: an elegant Disc Jockey service, live instrumentation for your ceremony and cocktail hour, masterfully crafted Photography and Videography services, and decor lighting.

Our mission is to offer you the personalized service you deserve with an array of options for engagement parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions, and post-wedding celebrations while accomodating various budgets.

Our team is uniquely comprised of individuals with professional musical training.  This brings a level of talent, experience, and flexibility far beyond an average DJ.  As professional musical performers who are also marquise DJs , we understand complex rhythms and musical nuances, allowing us to consistently execute the proper flow and tempo of your music. Because we have spent years actually producing and performing music live, we have a distinct working knowledge of our sound equipment.  Coupled with a real trained musical ear, we can maintain a comfortable volume and quality so you and your guests can thoroughly enjoy your music.

Your personal comfort level is paramount.  We will not assign you a DJ who you will be introduced to the week of your wedding.  That inherently creates stress and thats the last thing we want for you. You will have the opportunity to personally choose your DJ based upon an interview either by phone or in person including full bio and testimonials.  This allows you to develop a trust with someone who has such an important role at your reception.  We will not tell you what songs, genres of music, and artists are good or bad.  It is not our job to tell you what we like or don't like.  You must have the flexibility to choose whatever type of music makes you happy, it is your day!  We will not frighten you with horror stories.  Instead, we will reassure you that your reception will be elegant, sophisticated and fun.  These are, and always have been, the key elements to a perfect wedding reception. From the announcements to the music, our team will maintain appropriateness and professionalism at all times.

And lastly, we are professionals dedicated to making your wedding day the greatest time of your life.  This means, building your trust by responding to you quickly, listening to your needs, reassuring you that we have everything organized and ready to go for your day, executing your plans flawlessly, and most important of all, failure is not an option!

Frequently Asked Questions for DJ
Describe your DJ style:
It is our feeling that an experienced and versatile DJ should not have a particular style. But must be capable of adapting to different situations and ultimately tailor your reception exactly how you envision every moment.

What is your usual attire?
We are a reflection of you. Therefore, maintaining a professional appearance is very important. Our DJs typically dress conservatively, but sharp. You will see them in a well tailored business casual black suit with an appropriate tie, nothing too loud or overstated. If formal wear is requested, we are more than happy to accomodate you.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
It is ultimately our responsibility to provide all of your music selections. There are an almost infinite number of ways to retreive music through the internet. In the rare case that we cannot locate a particular song due to it's obscurity, we may ask you to provide it for us. It is however our responsiblity to let you know well in advance so we do not create a last-minute stressful situtation for you.

How many other DJs do you work with?
We have 12 DJs on our team. However, we do work with several "Independent DJs" who are absolutely phenominal. We would not hesitate to recommend them as well.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Not only are you able to meet with your prospective DJ, we encourage it. There is a certain chemistry that should exist between a bride and her wedding team especially her DJ. The initial interview is where we hope you will connect well with your candidate, and from there it is our job to provide you with information to make a sound, educated decision.

Do you bring your own equipment?
Typically, we find that DJs who have personally invested in their own equipment have a greater motivation to maintain it's quality. Sharing equipment amongst multiple DJs makes quality control often very difficult. Therefore, yes our team does individually own their equipment.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Washington Lighting, a division of Washington Talent is comprised of professional lighting experts. We offer an array of packages including uplighting, stage and decor lighting which will add to the excitement and ambiance of your reception.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
A crucial element to our job is to guide your guests through the evening by making brief announcements in a professional manner. We stress talking between songs is not necessary, unless requested by the client.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Absolutely! This is one of the benefits of working with a large company like Washington Talent. Our size and scope are vast. Even beyond our core team, we have access to a large pool of competent DJs we may call upon in case of an emergency.
