Julie Laudicina, Celebrant!
Julie is certified as a civil wedding celebrant by Celebrant Foundation and Institute. She is licensed to perform legal weddings in New York City, New York State, and New Jersey. She also does civil union ceremonies in NJ.
Whether a wedding ceremony is formal or informal, spiritual or secular, traditional or non-traditional, Julie creates ceremonies that reflect the beliefs, traditions, and wishes of the bride and groom. She encourages couples to incorporate time-honored traditions or unique rituals in their wedding. Her warm personality and engaging spirit make the ceremony one of the more stress-free aspects of your wedding day.
Most of her couples are very clear that they want a memorable ceremony that is totally personalized and sets the tone for their once-in-a-lifetime day. Julie's goal is that the couple is able to savor this special moment between them because of her pre-wedding day preparation and communication.
Since 2005 she has conducted over 100 weddings at reception halls, restaurants, parks, museums, and private homes. She has done weddings in such beautiful venues as The Loft and Garden at Rockefeller Center, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Pier, Metrazur at Grand Central Terminal, Tribeca Rooftop, Manhattan Penthouse, Tavern on the Green, and the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island. Several international couples have been married by Julie in Central Park weddings. She has also done weddings in backyards, parks, and living rooms.
Prior to becoming a celebrant, Julie was Associate Dean of arts and sciences at Pace University in Manhattan; a curriculum manager at Bell Laboratories, AT&T and Lucent Technologies in NJ; and Associate Director of the Noble Maritime Collection, an art museum in Staten Island, NY. Her varied life experiences give her rich material to draw from when creating original ceremonies.
She has a liberal arts degree in English and art from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN, and a masters degree in organizational behavior from NYU's Polytechnic University of New York, Brooklyn, NY.
