Volkel and Turner Design, LLC was started by Sara Volkel and Abby Turner in 2007 because of their love of event coordinating and attention to detail. Out of this company came Icing on the Cake Events, a company dedicated to creating creative, elegant, functional events. We specialize in weddings and company events, but also plan and organize any corporate events, fundraisers, private parties, banquets and the likes. Icing on the Cake Events is determined to make every event a success. In the wedding industry, timing, coordination and function go hand in hand with the elegance and charm of every wedding. We are devoted to the idea that a special event must go off as planned to everyone’s smallest detail. If we can eliminate the stress of our clients, that is our utmost goal. How many planners do you work with? We are a company of two planners that will both be available to plan, coordinate and perfect your wedding celebration.

What style of wedding do you specialize in planning? We can coordinate any wedding you are thinking of. Whether you are working on a large or small budget, destination wedding, planning a wedding in Montana from outside the state, or any other situation.

Do you support or cater to any specific cultures? We do not descriminate between cultures and are excited to incorporate specific traditions and elements of any culture into the celebration.

Do you support or cater to any specific religions? We have no religious affiliations and work with any church, officiate or religion the couple is connected with.

What sizes of weddings have you coordinated in the past? We have coordinated events from 40 people to 300+.

Which venues have you worked at that you are familiar with? We have experience with any hotel in the Bozeman area and many of the wedding sites.

So you think you need a wedding planner, but you’re not sure...or you don’t have any idea why you’d need a planner. Well, here’s some helpful insight. So many of the brides we work with are completely capable of planning a wedding on their own. For years they have been dedicating thoughts and ideas to their wedding day, before they even got the ring. However, when it comes down to the day, the bride is stressed, over worked, and has no idea how everything is going to get done. So consider this: don’t you want to be completely stress free on your wedding day? Don’t let it get a hold of you, get a hold of it! Even if you want to plan every detail of your wedding down to the last napkin, we can still help! 

Every bride should have a coordinator on the day of her wedding. Just to be there and make sure everyone is dressed and pressed, that the reception looks exactly how it should, and that everyone is there to walk down the aisle, in the correct order when the clock strikes time! Also, maybe little details of how the day should flow have escaped your mind and you just don’t know how it should work. Wedding coordinators specialize in how to fit it all in, how to keep guests dancing until they drop. Most of all, this should be a day for someone else to be stressed!
