We want to know who's who in your I do crew! After you said yes, who was the first person you shared the engagement news with?
Yes, my fiance had asked for my dad's permission, and my dad told my mom as soon as he could. They were both so excited, and they love him so much. I had barely said anything before they were both all teary-eyed with congratulations.
My accountability partner Ebony. She and I have been friends since I was 9. She was my prayer partner in my singleness. I was super elated and overjoyed to tell her!

It's so funny I was almost sure that you would say Steely Dan. Whenever I've been interviewed I always get that question lol. I was actually named by a family friend, but I like the song because of the unique spelling.
We got engaged in Africa, so the time change was a little harder to deal with on our end. We video called My parents first (and my youngest sister) then my fiances mother.
My I Do Crew is 3 of my best friends and my two sisters!!
We had a private engagement, it was just the two of us in our apartment (low key was perfect for me!). We first called our immediate family (parents, siblings, grandparents). Both of our parents knew it was coming and were waiting for the call. My fiance planned it out perfectly. He bought tickets to Summer Fest in Milwaukee. He proposed before we left and then took us out to lunch to celebrate the two of us (I was so excited I ended up taking most of my lunch to go) and then the drive up to Wisconsin we used that time to make some phone calls to our families and then enjoy the moment together and celebrate in Milwaukee. On the drive up in between phone calls I also texted a picture and told my closest and most dearest friends. It was amazing.
Wow what a beautiful and fun way to celebrate your engagement! That's awesome that you were able to share it with your family and friends as well as spend some alone time together afterwards!
