That's so sweet your kids were in on it! We were going away for my birthday weekend to North Conway NH. We stopped along the river on the Kancamangus Highway and it had just started to snow as we were looking at the river. He told me he had a letter for me for my birthday. As I'm reading it, at the end it said to close my eyes and make a wish. I wished to be together forever and then when I opened my eyes he was holding the ring and asked me to be his wife. I was in total shock/surprised and was so happy! It was just us around and so so perfect for us. I had no idea it was going to happen which made it even better. And now two and half years later we're getting married in the same area in two weeks.

Congratulations! What a sweet engagement story. My FH proposed on Easter at a historic mansion/garden estate. I should've known something was up but no--I was completely oblivious until I happened to turn around and he was on one knee in the courtyard, asking me to marry him. Then while I'm in the midst of happy tears, our friend who's a photographer popped out of nowhere and started taking pictures, haha. It was great and it sounds like you had a great engagement experience as well! Congrats again!

At home on Christmas night in front of the fireplace. LOL, it happened that night because on Christmas Eve my DH couldn't get my mom alone long enough to ask her, so he texted her and said he need to talk to her and she didn't call him till christmas afternoon - LOL (that's my mom-LOL) so while we was having christmas dinner with his family - they all knew that night he would ask me and my MIL was wigging out she was so excited - i just thought she was having a great day - LOL

The night before my birthday. December 12 A rooftop bar I wanted to go. I was looking at the beautiful Empire Statet building and when I turned around he was on his knee with a ring. I was wait? ! What! Lol. I want to re live it again. Haha. Sweet.

Super silly but my FH slipped the fact that he had paid off my ring (which I knew he was paying on just didn't know when) and we went to a concert that night and I was anxiously waiting but didn't happen which late he explained he was afraid it would have set off the metal detectors and give it away lol. So he ended up asking afterwards at our favorite breakfast place which is where one of our first dates was. it couldn't have been more perfect for us

We go to Florida every year. He proposed on the beach in view of my family's condo. We will get married on that same beach in November.

Well my FH and I got engaged 2-3 weeks before Christmas and I ask my best friend , my boyfriend to marry me yes I know it different but he said YES.. Now we're getting married 12/3/17 we been friends 3 years and been together for 4 years I can't wait to marry him

I was feeding the cat in our kitchen and I turned around and there he was. Haha not very romantic.

Our living room. Was supposed to be on our trip to Hong Kong but he got nervous. I love all these stories of proposals in rather 'ordinary' places. Why do we feel the need for some incredibly out of the ordinary proposal story? A proposal is romantic whereever it is.

At our favorite winery. He bought a barrel of wine and had a custom plaque on it that said "Will you marry me?" It was very sweet. He enjoys big romantic gestures and I know he put a lot of thought and planning into it, it was perfect

Proposed February of 2016, we were in Cancun with his dad, step-mom and a bunch of people he works with his dad and step-mom videoed and everyone else watched which I didn't know until after! He asked me that morning if I wanted to get dressed up for dinner and a romantic walk on the beach, I of course said yes and saw none of this coming when he left our hotel room we headed down to the beach and he proposed on the beach we then had a romantic dinner just the two of us. My family and his family all knew and were in on it since christmas and kept it a secret!

We were in Reno on a Valentine's trip. He had the Jacuzzi room set with roses. I'm in love with Lush bath bombs. He had the ring in the bag with the bombs. It was sweet as hell

For my Christmas gift I found out my then boyfriend was bringing me to Disney world for a week that upcoming spring. Our first night there we had dinner at Cinderellas Castle, and after dinner he told me he wanted to get some pictures taken in front of the castle. He had it all planned out with the photographer there. She posed me in a position so I was turned away from him, and then I heard him say my name, turned around to see him on one knee opening the most breathtaking ring I have ever seen. Hundreds of people all around us started cheering and came up to congratulate us. It was truly magical, I was in complete shock. We got to spend the rest of our vacation in engaged bliss <3
