It is great to see that I have an okay budget. I felt that I might not find what I wanted because my budget was so low. Those bridal dress TV shows will have you thinking you must spend $5,000 or more. I definitely cannot afford a $5000 plus gown. Thank you all for your help. I read each response. You all are AWESOMENESS. I'm so glad that I joined WW!!
318 with 150 in alterations from Nordstrom. It's an Adriana Papell bridesmaid gown, though. The only way I could afford what I wanted was to choose from bridesmaid collections, because that automatically puts it into a lower bracket, even if the quality is still very high.
I budgeted $1500 and found dream dress, Maggie Sottero for a little over $1000. I know alterations are going to be ridiculous because I have a little waist and huge hips, so I had to order a few sizes up. Not looking forward to that, but I still have wiggle room in my budget
Mori Lee was my other designer...they have tons of dresses within your budget. Good luck!
I paid just over 200$ for my dress and it was a HUGE hit! I've had 2 people ask if they can borrow it for their wedding..strange question but very flattering! Don't forget about alterations..mine were about 400$.
If you're in Georgia Anya is def worth checking out I fell in love with a few Mori Lee there and Bride Beautiful as well. Mine was on the high end from bride beautiful but I did try on a few around that price range. Yes - Bridal shows especially the ones filmed here in Atlanta focus on the higher end. I wouldn't go to Bridals by Lori unless you're prepared to spend a min of $2000
About $1400 for a Casablanca dress. I'm a little scared about alterations costs, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. A good bridal shop should be able to help you find a dress in your budget and the style you like. Pin some faves on Pinterest even if they are way out of your budget and show your consultant. Be clear that you are not looking to spend over $X, and they should do the rest. Check out samples sales or consignment shops too! I may feel differently after my wedding, but I will likely consign my dress afterward to try and "save" a little after the fact.

@OriginalLaura - your dress is amazing!! Coming from one BBB (big budget bride) to another, it was money well spent. I cannot wait to see your BAM.
My dress is Ines di Santo with an Alon Livne bolero. OLaura - we need to find a time to meet for HH sometime. Maybe you can convince your FH one day to make a trip to SA!!
A discontinued Justin Alexander and it was $800 on the clearance rack. It was way too small, so they let it out, changed the neck to a sweetheart, and shortened it for $375.
I bought a few. The dress I ended up wearing cost $87 Canadian and $25 to have it shortened. I could not justify spending thousands on a dress I'd wear once and it was too damn hot here in July to wear a long heavy gown. I don't know how you ladies are doing it.
My dress was originally $900 but, I got it for 75% off and only ended up paying $125 for it. I am very happy with my diamond in the ruff find
