What amount did you spend on your wedding dress? (You don't have to answer)

I'm a budget bride and was curious as to what other brides spent on their dress. I'm hoping to find something under $1200.00.

Second wedding so I selected a "mother of the Bride" dressy dress that I can wear again on my honeymoon for a special dinner out . . . so doubling my use off the block, and pre alterations $489

I spent. $720 on my dress. I haven't got it altered but they're estimating it to be around $200.

I ordered mine online after seeing it in a mom/pop shop. The website is bestbridalprices.com. It is a legit licensed dealer mom/pop shop in Chicago that ships all over. My Allure dress was $1,600 in store here and they had it for $1,400 which included $400 in accessories. They have deals all the time. I paid $18 shipping (FL) and it showed up right to my door. Then my alterations have been about $100. Their customer service is awesome via email and phone.

Plus, with the money we saved on the dress, I was able to get an amazing custom wedding band wrap instead! Smiley smile the rings will be forever, the dress just one day!

I spent a little over $200 on my dress & I absolutely adore it. I got it off Etsy, it's beautiful & fits perfectly. I was a little nervous about buying it online because of all the horror stories about dresses turning out like nothing like the listing. But I fell in love with this dress when he first proposed and I couldn't find anything like it in the stores. Nor could any stores beat the price. I just couldn't see myself spending a ton of money on a dress I will only wear once. I couldn't be happier. And can't wait for October 10th!

$1575 plus whatever the alterations are going to cost. Plus the veil, etc. In the end it's probably going to be around $2000 or more. My budget was $1500. Oops! But I'm not settling. This is the dress of my dreams. And I figured I got pretty lucky getting the dress of my dreams for this price range!

If you are on a budget try Consignment shops. I am on a strict budget myself. I found a beautiful ivory lace tea length dress (NWT) for a mere $10. What a great find. I am so excited. Since this is our 2nd time around, I just wanted a reasonably priced dress.

I spent $499 for mine at David's Bridal! I went to boutiques and all over and fell in love with a dress from there. Has a train with ornate beading and ornate beading all over the bodice. Also only looked at dresses that had the corsette tops to limit my alterations. So $499 plus tax is all I spent for the dress. Absolutely love mine and the price.

My dress was $1999 originally, but I knew the manager of the boutique, and I got a military discount. My veil was custom made by one of the seamstresses at the shop that was 150 and the belt that I'm getting from the dress was around $250. Haven't gotten any alterations done yet..man this stuff gets expensive quickly! All together we ended up paying $2080 for all of it!

Random observation: is it just me or are there a ridiculous amount of ring-avatar users posting on this thread?

I spent $20 for my dress. It was a Mori Lee sample dress. In fact I ended up buying 7 dresses and paid less than $150 for all of them. All of them samples. I found them at the Thrift stores and Salvation Army. Local boutiques will donate gowns not sold at sample sales for the tax write off. I ended up with 4 Maggie Sotteros, 2 Mori Lee, 1 Justin Alexander. I am currently selling the ones I did not wear at a consignment shop for several hundred dollars each.

Hey! I know a lot of people have posted and I didn't take the time to read all of the responses, so I apologize if I repeat anything! The place where my sister got her dress is having a Running of the Brides event this Sunday, October 4th. They have beautiful designer dresses, and the girls there are so nice! They will have dresses for as low as $100. Anyway, I think it would be worth it to go check it out!

The place is called Sweet Elegance Bridal

1652 Church St Decatur GA 30033. It starts at 11am, but I know I'm going to be there early to get in line!
