My budget was $2k..... but I guess the extra $800 were worth my happiness lol. Mine is a Nicole Spose and I do pay sales tax which is 8.25%
TLDR; I was planning on spending around 400 online, mother disagreed with my decision, went to get my sizing at a bridal salon and ended up buying a dress in a sample sale for about 890 but it was worth it. Tip: follow stores on social media and keep an eye out for sales!
I was originally going to buy my dress from coco melody, they have a physical store in LA and most the reviews include photos from people and their weddings. I was originally hoping to spend around 400 (my fiance and I both agreed that with our situation we couldn't fathom spending a large amount on a dress, not that it's a horrible thing, I'm still in school and we have a child and saving up for our next house and also paying for our own wedding, plus I plan on getting alterations regardless closer to, so the cheaper the better). I went to a bridal store nesr by to get my measurements done and try on some silhouettes to make sure the dress I wanted would be something I liked. They were having a sample sale and my mother was very hesitant when I told her about the dress I wanted was from a website online, so she ended up coming with me and my sisters to the bridal salon hoping to get me to buy something in person. Ended up finding a different dress at the store that I just couldn't take off. The dress ended up being one of the dresses in the sample sale and was over half off. It was about 890 after tax, but luckily the dress store had a very flexible payment plan and my mother surprised me with paying my deposit (I was not expecting her to pay for anything since my parents got married in my grandma's garage and think that a big wedding is excessive). My advice is if you have time, follow the stores near you on social media and keep an eye out for sales and deals. Luckily I was looking right before black friday because the website was having 25% off for black friday so lots of stores in the area were having some sort of sale.
I am a budget bride also and I was stuck between 2 dress one was $900 and the other was $1300, you can definitely find a dress that is worthy of wearing on your wedding day at a low cost...
My eyeful dress is at $599 from DB haven’t tried it on yet,I have a set appointment coming up next month and that’ll be the first dress I try on.
My set budget is at $1,200 and that amount includes everything!
Originally my dress was 1,050, I waited to re but since I returned it for a different size. I’m glad I did because I got it for 700 dollars for Black Friday!

I spent $550! I think it’s silly to spend an ungodly amount on a dress you’ll only wear for 1 day.
I wanted to spend about $800 on my dress but was willing to go up to $1200 (including alterations, I didn't want to get a $900 dress and then spend $600 just to have it fit and look the way I wanted). I went to one bridal shop and looked at dresses in the $800-$1400 range (before alterations), but nothing really excited me for the price. I had been browsing StillWhite, PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com, OnceWed, Poshmark, Tradesy, Etsy, and eBay, and ending up taking a gamble on a dress on StillWhite and lucked out. I love my dress, paid only $400 for it, and it fits me perfectly without alterations needed. New the same dress costs over $2000!
If you are a savvy online shopper, don't mind buying pre-owned, and are willing to resell a dress that doesn't work for you, you can get a dress well outside your budget for well under your budget by checking out StillWhite and other websites. If you hate the idea of a previously worn dress, you can still find some NWT dresses on those websites (brides will buy a dress and then change their mind) or there were some really nice dresses on Etsy that can be custom ordered for the fraction of the price of a similar designer dress at a bridal boutique. I'd also suggest checking out Lulus, ASOS, and BHLDN - they have some really affordable dress options as well, and those sites also have good return policies so you can return a dress if it doesn't work for you.
My dress was $1400 with $575 in alterations. My sister's veil is my something borrowed and my best friend's blue sapphire wedding necklace is my something blue, so I'm not adding any other expenses to my look other than makeup and hair.
Little under $600 and then my alterations costed another $450. And my peticoat (tulle underskirt) costed me $80. My veil was $40, and belt for the dress was $12. So not sure if you are talking about just the dress alone or dress plus alterations and everything to go with the dress.

Paid $300 for the dress and $130 for alterations. I got lucky and they had a dress I loved in my size on the clearance rack at David's Bridal. I think the original price was around $700.

The one I'm in love with is under $200. That price is for made to measure, and it's online only.
