What amount did you spend on your wedding dress? (You don't have to answer)

I'm a budget bride and was curious as to what other brides spent on their dress. I'm hoping to find something under $1200.00.

I got my dress from Alfred Angelo for less than $1700 after tax. I know Group USA has some pretty nice wedding dresses for less than $1,000.

I paid $1000 for my dress. It was a discontinued design that I bought off the floor, plus I don't have to pay for alterations.

Just got back from dress shopping. I've narrowed down dresses to three options. Two samples (one is $599 the other is $999) the other is a Maggie Sottero with a nice jacket for $1,599. No surprise which one I really like. It looks like I'll be spending way more than I wanted to.

Mine was a Mori Lee! I got mine for $750 because there had just been one of those bridal extravaganzas and they offered $100 off. Good luck to you it is totally doable!

Today I just got a ALFRED ANGELO BRIDAL Spring 2015- Style 2508 for just over 1300 with tax. I think the alterations are another $200-$300. My budget was 5000 so I am very glad I am spending less than half of that.

I spent under $200 for a gorgeous custom made strapless lace ball gown. Yes custom made! I ordered from China and couldn't be happier with dress I received. NO ALTERATIONS cost as it's a perfect fit. I went to David's bridal they wanted 1800 for dress only before taxes or anything. Dress was gorgeous but one I got in China was so much better and the cost.....well you can't be at $200 for a custom gown.

Hi!! I bought a brand new Mori Lee dress for $700 in St. Louis! I think that if you do some research you should be able to find a Mori Lee in your price range! All I tried on was Mori Lee and nothing went over $900 except for the extravagant ball gowns. Mine is still a ball gown and has so many gorgeous details, so I think you can definitely do this with your budget!! Smiley smile

$750 after tax Original price was $990 We went to the shop so I could try on a dress I saw online. The one I was looking for did not look good on my body type, but my future mother in law pulled a dress from the blowout sale they were having and it was the one. I still cant believe we bought a dress that day it was my first time out dress shopping, and I only tried on 8 dresses. I think it will sink in when I take it back for alterations. I just need the length shortened so I don't expect that to cost much, and I am not getting a veil.

I spent $1800 WITH my Veil for an Ivory dropped-waist ball gown.

My Veil had lace detail and was chapel length.

I spent $1200 on Oleg Casini at David's Bridal. Then $225 in alterations, $80 in the corset, $63 in the veil $60 in shoes, $12 in earrings, and I am still missing the petticoat.

My dress was originally $1,200. I couldn't afford it so I got mine second hand. It was already altered to my measurements and had a bustle. It cost me $475. I found the slip and bustier second hand for a total of $35, and my veil was my something borrowed from my sister in law. My shoes where $45 (and so comfortable, Audrey Brooke)

Ugh this is a sore subject I wanted to be really thrifty and keep it to under 1000 but I fell in love with a Maggie soterro for 1400 dollars. When I tried it on it was a year out and intokdnthebladt intended on losing weight and wanted to order a size smaller but she was not having it. So now a year later my dress doesn't fit and it's costing me another 500 in alterations. Awesome.
