I'm a new bride with my wedding coming next year. I managed to snag my wedding dress early at a steal. I got the Bony Bridal gown that was originally $1600, but after doing extensive research, I found a dress shop in NY. They offer designer gowns including the designer you're interested in. I don't live in NY but I was pleased they had a website: dressdirect.net. The owner was great and kept abreast with my purchase progress. I ended up paying $1050 including shipping and time. It just arrived and very pleased. Can't wait till next September. Wish you good luck and happy shopping!
I spent $300 and I purchased 2 dresses one for the ceremony and one for the reception. The seamstress doing my alterations is charging me $100. I ordered one dress on Amazon and the other dress from Modcloth.com I love both of them and they are both very different from each other. I ordered a crystal and pearl sash for the reception one from etsy $32 and my headpiece from Amazon $22. I purchased my shoes in the mall last weekend and both pairs were $34 each. Doing my wedding on a budget and wanted to stay within my price range but, ended up with very beautiful dresses!!
Woah, where did all of these 1 star users come from>
My dress was just over $1,000 including the sash and veil. My FMIL's best friend is a seamstress and is doing my alterations at no charge as part of our wedding gift.
$900 before alterations. I found this dress in Utah. I was originally looking at dresses in California and the same standard of dress there was 2-3000. Crazy!
$425 for a Beautiful, Unique, Vintage 1930's all lace gown from Off Broadway in Albuquerque. $30 for alterations at Alterations by Kathy. Very happy with my choice!
I paid 1400$ + 500$ for alterations which I think is very expensive! Especially because the seamstress told me I'm fat while I was in the dress! I do not recommend that shop!
$900 (no alterations yet) at David's Bridal, which still seems outrageous for a dress I'll only wear for a day. I'm in love with the dress but I honestly only got it because my mom paid. If I had paid for it, my budget would've been around $500. I'll be paying for alterations, veil and a pretty headband. I'll probably get the last two used. David's Bridal has some gorgeous options so definitely look there and at other stores in that price range.
I found a beautiful dress in Birmingham, Sottero by Midgeley for $1200. I used to sell wedding dresses at a boutique in Savannah, GA so I know the markup is 3x or more usually of their cost, so I negotiated a 10% discount with the owner for purchasing same day. Don't pay big bucks for a veil - I got a cathedral length raw edge for $27 brand new custom from Veils by Elena on eBay. Remember a corset back will minimize your alterations up top, and ask if you can order a specific length at no extra cost - mine I could and I'm wearing shoes I already owned that keep me from needing a hem. Bustle and bra cups came to $140 total alterations.
I am proud to say I only paid $105 for a $600 dress from DB for the from the their biggest sale of the year. I had a small complaint not knowing they was going to refund me 15% back. So in all I end up paying $90. I really love the dress.
