I was expecting to spent over $2000 but ended up spending $700 on a beautiful allure bridals dress. almost didn't believe the salesperson when she told me the price! pleasantly surprised to say the least
I am having mine custom made by a local dressmaker and it is going to cost $1200. Not a bad option to look into, considering you won't have to worry about alterations and will get exactly what you want.
My dress is a Kenneth Winston from the private label by G. I bought mine during a trunk show so I ended up with 10% off. It came out to be $2,350 with tax and the height order fee as I ordered it in my height as it will be cheaper then that extra alteration after. Although, it will still have to be taken in. In my eyes that was very expensive, I had help from my father but you only get to do it once! So might as well have the perfect dress - and I am in LOVE with it The dress was priced for $2,150 I believe before tax and the discount that I had received. I also live in Canada so thats in CDN money.
$500 --- Brides Against Breast Cancer. They have a great selection of new and slightly used dresses at great prices. Spend the money where it helps people ... Not the bridal store that is making a large profit off it.
I bought a (used) Maggie sottero for $200 that has a bustle. Preownedweddingdresses.com is an amazing place to get dresses for cheap if you know what you want.
I bought a vintage Dolce and Gabbana dress for $880 on shopgossamer.com. And a friend of mine bought her dress (also a vintage dress) on that site for around $250...
I spent around $990 on my satin, trumpet style dress at Alfred Angelo. I took advantage of the sale going on! It was originally $1200, so I guess I got a great deal!
