Sorta WR: How lond did you date before becoming engaged? How long is your engagement?

We dated for just under 3 years before getting engaged.

We dated 2 years before being engaged, and will be engaged for a little over a year and 1/2 by the time we get married.

On our wedding day it will be 7 years. The funny part about it was we really did not have a formal engagement. We both had decided to get marry and never got that really propsal like everyone else. We just knew. I actually just got my ring last month and our wedding is in March. We were supposed to get marry last October, but due to money we decided to have it on this day when we started to date. It already feels like we are marry. People had always made fun of me due to not having the ring but planning the wedding, while other co-workers had their ring, but they were not getting marry for another 3-5 years later. So the ring did not mean nothing because with that time frame anything can happen. So don't worry. I had felt like if we were not getting marry soon than I don't want to get marry due to time and love invested in each other. It was either going to work or not.

We moved in together 11 months after we stared dating..He proposed 2 months later..and we are getting married a year and 2 months after our engagement!

Met Nov 17,2007 (on a blind date, no less); he moved in August 2008, he would have proposed by now (I won't let him because my dad is being a prat and I don't want to be disowned just yet, and I don't want to lie to them); but we ARE getting married Dec 31, 2011 - Jan 1 2012: NYE wedding. So... so far, 2yrs and some change, and another 698 days to go (thanks WW counter!)

We were together for 7 years before he proposed. Mostly bc we are very young, and he didnt want to propose and everyone think we were being silly. But we decided it really shouldnt matter, we are already basically married now. Plus, we will be getting married after I am done with school, and that was my goal. We are having a 9 month engagement. So by the time we are married we will have been together for about 8 years.

We knew eachother for three weeks before he popped the question (yeah i know it was fast lol) i knew the first day i met him that he was "the one" and he said he feels the same. we will have a court house wedding in may and then in a few years have the wedding of our dreams. i would also like to add that both our parents had a quick engagement too only my parents married after knowing eachother for two weeks(together for 26 years and still going) and his for three (unsure on the number of years but were together until his mom passed away). so dont worry it can happy and 6 months is not too short

Dated exclusively for 6 month, engaged for 9 months..we knew within 3 months of dating that we were right for each other. we didn't bo jangle in asking each other tough questions and both of our lives were very open to each other from day one. It's all about meeting and being the right person at the right time and you both have to be on the same page and flexible to work through the adjustments... The rest is just details...

Well, exculsive since april 2004, engaged april 2005... baby in june 2006 and getting marry May 2011 (waited for $$&dollar.

Some may disagree but i think people to should live together before the big step... dating and living together are two different things.

We started dating in March 2009, got engaged in July 2009 (4 months) and our getting married in April (so we'll have a 9 month engagement)= 1 year and 1 month

My fh and i started officially courting on november 19, 2008. and then he asked me to marry him june 27th, 2009. it was only 7 months, but it's totally of God and if we had any doubts, the wedding wouldnt be happening. the engagement will be a year and 2 months, and by then well have been together for 1 year and 9 months. lol. time means nothing! i was with my first boyfriend for 4 years and we couldnt have been more wrong for each other if we had tried!

FH and I were dating for around a year and a half, then he purposed. By the time we get married the engagement length with be about a year and 10 Months. But you can't look at the length of time to determine when you guys will be truly ready. You will know it in your heart. Good luck!

Known each other for 5 yrs, dating for 18 months tomorrow and been engaged for a month now

3.5 years for the proposal, 6 years by the time we get married.

We started dating in Nov '08 and knew within months that we were going to be together forever. He (officially) moved into my house after being together for 5 months, and with both of us being divorced and parents knew that the blending of the families would take time and work so we made a promise to not get (officially) engaged until Nov '10. However we've been talking about getting married for months and have major details planned like location and of course the date which uses my favorite (lucky) numbers. Secretly I hope he breaks that promise, and askes me sooner.....

So altogether we will be together over 4 years and an engagement of over a year on our wedding day.

Dated 6 months. An additional 8 months engagement

FH and I started dating when I was 17 and he was 22. 8 years into the relationship, we got engaged and a little over 2 years we'll be husband and wife. It seems like a really long time, but he met me young, and we were doing the college thing and wanted to make sure we had secure jobs and such. 2011 can't come soon enough!
