While I was working in South Carolina in December of 08’ I received an email to become the join the tagged website from one of my friend’s, a few weeks later David sent me a note and we began to get to know each other via yahoo IM. I was very hesitant to get into another relationship, so IMing was very comfortable for me and David was a pure gentleman. When I returned from South Carolina in January the next day my battery had died, so I shared this with him and he immediately volunteered to come and fix it so I could go to a work meeting I had that day. I felt so nervous because I hadn’t yet had a chance to get my hair and nails done. Be a consultant on travel can be grueling on a sista’s personal maintenance. Anyway he came and my 1st impression was what a big head and colorful clothes. I’m sure he was thinking what a big butt and nice smile, just kidding; he has ALWAYS been a perfect gentlemen. So he fixed my car, and being that I noticed how handy he was I also asked him to fix my printer. He did me one better, and gave me a whole new computer! Fixing computers is his hobby. So in March we decided to begin a courtship. From day one he introduced me to his family; he has always been very open and kind. He takes me to work and picks me up. We have always shared Jesus Christ with one another; going to church on New Years, visiting each other’s church and praying together. We aren’t a perfect couple, but we love God and desire to please him. We do a lot of things together; we exercise, visit friends, go on trips, advise one another, but most of all we love action movies! On September 5, 2009 I had a birthday party for David at my house with about 40 friends and family. Upon opening his gift from me, he proceeded to share with everyone how we met. Then he got to this part where he was like, “I would like to spend the rest of my life with her, but I have one question for her”. I began to cry, he got on his knees and popped the question (OMG), and with both of our hands shaking he placed the most beautiful engagement ring on my finger. This was such a beautiful moment with his family and friends from Ghana and mine from the various phases of my life. It really brought things full circle for the both of us. Here are the engagement photos and video that someone just happened to take for us: http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLanding.action?c=161sckoi.5xs89vjm&x=0&y=-fovom8&localeid=en_US and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU5L0OGOrt8 We’ve both experienced certain challenges that we now see were all for the purpose of being prepared for one another. He is my friend and an anchor in my life. Just recently the Pastor at ICGC Maryland asked me to sing a solo. I struggled with the song choice and I had never done sung a solo in church before, so you know I was sweating bricks. David chose “My Purpose” by Spensha Baker and coached me the whole way through. I worked through a fear and people were blessed. So I thank God for bringing us together!

So my bridesmaids are going to get their dresses altered..where is the bottom of the dress suppose to stop?
How necessary is a coordinator? I don't want to have to run around doing things at my wedding besides getting dressed. Is there really a lot to be organized the day of? I am having about 125 people...
At what point in the planning did you realize "OMG, I'm getting married!" and at what point after the wedding did you realize "I'M MARRIED!" I'm one of the 'slow realization' people. IE: Didn't hit me...
