Need Advice: Honeyfund or no Honeyfund?

Mrs.Grace2B, on January 2, 2017 at 12:57 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 97

I just came across the idea of a Honeyfund. I don't know anyone who has used one before so I'm curious for those who have, was it worth it? what did you like and not like about it? and what sites would you recommend if you're for it!

UPDATE: We can afford our own honeymoon. Both sides of the family are notorious for giving money instead of gifts and we barely registered for anything because we have everything we need and most of what we want, SO that's why I decided to look into it.

Literally every person on this forum will tell you a honey fund is a bad idea.

Ugh I don't have time for this, just search for honeyfund on the forums.

ETA: What if no one else answers this because we want the proposal at the top of the screen!!

No. No. No. No. No. Don't ask folks to pay for your sexcation. Plan a honeymoon you can afford, or post pone it until you can.

Big fat no from me. It is tacky to ask people for money. Don't panhandle your guests because that is what a honeyfund amounts to.

No. It's panhandling. Why do people think it's okay to panhandle electronically at a party they're spending thousands of dollars on?!

It's rude. Asking for money, in any form, is ALWAYS rude.

Nope. People who want to give you cash can do so without the administrative expense of a honeyfund. And asking for cash is rude, whether you do it through a honeyfund or some other way. If you want cash, just don't set up a registry.

Well, one source of entertainment left and another one immediately showed up! Thanks baby Jesus.

Please don't use one. They are tacky. And as someone that just spent all afternoon/evening registering for stuff, I can 100% say that even if you live with FH and swear that you have everything you need already there are TONS of things to upgrade and fun kitchen gadgets to get and new linens to buy. There's absolutely zero reason for one.

Have you looked at the site's posts for more than ten minutes? Surely you know you're stepping into a real pile right now, friend?

If you can't afford a vacation don't expect your friends and family to pay for it. Don't do it.
