Is this tacky?

I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. I always thought (yeah, tacky, I know) that if people invite me for their weddings, they actually want me to be there. But now I understand people do not expect all of their guests to show up, which is also tacky.

We currently have 2 tacky invitations for 2 weddings this summer. I’m wondering if we are among those tacky guests who should decline but to the couple’s tacky surprise, we accept? Before you say anything negative, I understand it’s tacky we haven’t RSVPed before we received the invitations.

Is it tacky if I call the couples and ask them if that really want us to show up? Or should we decline and just send them a tacky gift?

Please help, but don’t comment if you’re going to say something tacky. Thanks!

While you and your tacky posse are drunk dancing, cutting their cake, and commandeering the toasts, don't forget to start a fight with someone. Not doing so is clearly tacky. Oh, and do include the happy couple's bitterest (is that a word? it's tacky to google it...) exes. Not inviting them is tacky and you have to help the couple stop being so tacky. Good luck with managing all this tackiness at both those weddings, whatever would they do without your help?

I think you should tackily invite yourself to stay at their house while you are the tacky guest at their tacky wedding. Also, you should bring an extremely embarrassing tacky gift. Don't include a card (so they will have to display it in their incredibly tacky house since they don't know who gave it to them) and then call them several times about how they have forgotten to send you a tacky thank you card. All the while, never tell them what gift you gave them so said tacky gift will be forever displayed in their tacky house!

I'm at work and on my phone so I'm keeping this short, and I haven't read any comments but...

I officially don't like you anymore after reading this. Your incorrect and overuse of the word tacky is so tacky.

Oooh come on MrsO, I thought the word tacky cannot be overused????? In fact, I edited my original post because it felt that so many tackies in one sentence were tacky.

MB, although I never intended for this thread to be anything serious... it comes from by ultimate despise for the word "tacky". I do not believe I've heard it as many times in my lifetime as I have here in like 2 days. EVERYTHING is tacky all the time. Like we don't have any other adjective to describe things.

But now MrsO, who was one of my favorite people here, broke my heart. Deadly coldly. So I'm going to cry a little.

Don't cry. That would just be tacky.

(PS I still love you but I need to get back to work.)

I guess I havent seen whatever threads you've seen with the misuse, but I do see those threads that nearly every title begins with "is this tacky" lol. And yeah too much of the word.

So wait you can make fun of people's overuse of a word, but when I make fun of grammar nazis or tell someone to stop yelling in caps, I'm a mean immature bully? No fair!

I sincerely hope that after this post everyone else can agree that tacky is the worst word of ALL TIME.
