If You Had Short Centerpieces...

Lindsay, on September 27, 2012 at 7:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 23

Can you show me them? I have an appointment with a florist on Monday and although I have an idea of what I want for centerpieces I want to bring one or two more ideas so that we have options.

I have opted out of the floating candle centerpieces since they are too expensive. I definitely want short ones because I am afraid that tall ones will prevent guests that are sitting across the table from each other from chatting.

Thank you in advance! Smiley smile

Im am doing two different centerpieces.. Amazon has these 3 vases for 10.00 and we just bought water beads, flower, and a light in it with ribbon. For 8 tables the florist is making 8 tall vases for the other tables.

We did alternating tall and short. We had orchids and hydrangeas and grenery. The short vases had underwater lights and the tall centerpieces had blue led lights in the vases with orchids to add to them

I also did short and tall. We did candle lanterns for half the tables and Eiffel towers for half. I made them all using a combination of silk orchids for the tall arrangements and real orchids for the floating centerpieces. Cost for each centerpiece was $10 for the short ones and $15 for the tall ones.

Had 2 different short centerpieces. Did not DIY them, they were done by the florist and included in my venue price. They went with the bridesmaid bouquets which were also roses and gerbera daisies.

Our centerpieces weren't short, per se, but they weren't super tall. I've been to so many weddings where the centerpieces were obnoxiously tall. This is a picture of just one table. Every centerpiece was different; some were taller than others.

@Combay, our venue provided them, so I'm not sure where they came from. Google search came up with some at

This is ours we decided to go with short as well. I have 20 tables. I got the black candle for $11.99 each. The white candle came in a pack of 20 or something close (used 2 white ones for each bowl) and then the silver candles (2 for each bowl again) came in a pack of 9. I believe it was $3.99 for each pack of silver candles and $5.99 for the white. The bowl I got from efavormart.com for $5.99 a piece and then I will also have a silver charger ($1.99 each) under each bowl

black white and silver are my colors. I was originally going to put the water in the bowls but my decorators only have an hour to turn the room from a ceremony to a reception so the water beads ($2 each from orientaltrading.com, one bag can fill 2 bowls about half way so I only paid for 10 bags).

We decided to go with no flowers. The pics is from another WW bride. But we are doing a nightclub themed reception and I feel inlove with this centerpiece. I will change it a little but it is the idea of what we are going for. The candle will not be there it will be a small lamp with a candle and a few candles around the bottom.

I did a variation of short, medium, and tall centerpieces. The tall ones were very tall and didn't prevent my guests from being able to speak to one another. Just something to keep in mind. I thought that my decorators did an amazing job and the height difference on each table was very visually appealing. I included pics of my shorter centerpieces.

Attached is a mock up of mine. The flower vase is going to be white and the stone that it sets on will be a slightly bigger diameter - the one I have is 6", we will be using 8"-10"
