Mike and I met at a bar on New Year's 2011.  We didn't really meet each other or speak much during the party, but Mike noticed me.  As we were walking out Mike asked if I would be interested in going out some time.  I thought "what the hell" and gave him my phone number.  The following weekend, we met for lunch.  That first date lasted 3 hours. Mike has a goal of running a half marathon (13.1 miles) in every state.  Before I met Mike, I had run 4 half-marathons.  In 2011, I ran 6 half marathons in 4 different states.  One seemingly random Wednesday night, I was sitting on the bed with my laptop paying bills and surfing the internet.  Mike came into the bedroom and kneeled down beside the bed.  He said to me "We have been together for 13.1 months, and I think that deserves something special" and he handed me a custom made medal.  The front said "13.1 months and still running strong".  On the back, Mike had written "Will you marry me".  As I read the medal, Mike pulled out a ring.  I was so surprised and laughing hystericaly the whole time.  Of course I said yes, and now I am here planning a wedding!
