drinking on your wedding day?

Rachel, on May 10, 2012 at 10:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 69

This may be a touchy subject for some... But are you going to drink on your wedding day? I DO NOT want to be anywhere close to drunk on my special day, I want to remember it. I don't see a problem with having some champagne or one drink during the reception but anything beyond that, no. I guess it just seems totally trashy/tacky IMO to want to get plastered on that day. I'm pretty firm on this but I guess to each their own right?

I'll drink, but I'm not one to get wasted normally, so I'm sure i WILL NOT get wasted on my wedding day either.

I think drinking is fine....just don't be like the lady on the news who got arrested on her wedding night for being drunk and disorderly.

We are actually consideringa dry wedding. Due to my profession I dont want a bunch of my family and friends driving in an unfamiliar area with alcohol on board and I personally want to remember the day.

Yes I will be drinking. I am NOT a lightweight.

5 or so drinks and I will hardly be tipsy. I do not plan on being drunk. That is what the honeymoon is for.

FH & I promised each other not to get *wasted.* That of course doesn't mean we won't be feeling really good haha. I'm always DD it seems like [too nice & responsible to speak up othewise], but I plan to enjoy the drinks we're paying dearly for for everyone, including ourselves, to enjoy. As long as both of us are able to have some sexy time after all is said & done haha, all will be well ;]!

I think it's real important not to get wasted. I couldn't imagine going to a wedding and having the bride and or groom wasted.

    They are the hosts!

I am going to enjoy my wedding day and the open bar that comes with it. I have never gotten so drunk that ive blacked out so I dont plan on doing that on my wedding day. But hopefully I will leave the reception feeling good!

I barely had time to drink on my wedding day and honestly I was so on the go for most of the day that when our caterers came over to us offering to get us drinks, I usually just asked for ice water.

I had a flute full of Sangria during our toasts, and maybe like half a flute during my dinner.

It actually amazes me how little I had to drink and how little I remember from our wedding that was just last weekend. I was on cloud 9 all day and my memory is so foggy.

I'm drinking. I'm ordering a special wine just for me. However, I will not be getting drunk. I haven'tgotten drunk in years and I don't plan on it formy wedding. I'm too old for hangovers, hugging the porcelin god, and not to mention kids and dry heaving don't mix well.

I will be drinking the entire time i am in key west for my wedding! that being said I will only have one prior to the ceremony, and i refuse to be dis-tasteful during my reception. i have had a few friends black out and vomit at their weddings and it is completely disgusting. not what i want my wedding to be! it's not a club... haha

I will also be enjoying the open bar we are providing, but like most of you I'll drink enough to enjoy myself. I've also put my foot down with FH. He too can have enough to enjoy himself, but no drunk groom. I hate being in charge of drunk people and he knows that.

I'm pretty good at pacing myself, so honestly starting Wednesday there will probably be some drinking everyday up through the wedding. The day of I plan on having a couple bottles of wine to split with my bridal party while we're getting ready. I will definitely be enjoying the open bar I paid for at the reception. Realistically, I think there will be so much going on the whole weekend that I think I will be so busy that I won't have much of a chance to drink enough to get buzzed. It'll just be a drink here and there when I have time.

I had only a couple of cups of our frozen strawberry mimosas. I don't drink much normally, and definitely didn't want to be too fogged to remember the details of our wedding day.
