drinking on your wedding day?

This may be a touchy subject for some... But are you going to drink on your wedding day? I DO NOT want to be anywhere close to drunk on my special day, I want to remember it. I don't see a problem with having some champagne or one drink during the reception but anything beyond that, no. I guess it...

I'm pretty firm on this but I guess to each their own right?

Yep, I was a buzzing bride. I chugged a 6 pack during pictures on an empty stomach. I ate very little dinner too. Do I remember my wedding? Hell yes!

However, as a voluntary beer drunk by the end of the night bride, I can honestly say, in my social circle, at our function, everyone was drunk and it was surely NOT TACKY. Having typed that, we are all over 40 and were staying at the venue. If we had to, we could crawl or roll to our rooms. That is just what we planned for. Noone made an ass of themselves and noone puked or blacked out. I guess old tarts can hold their liquor.

Did I get drunk at my Big Fat Italian Wedding the first time around? I tried really hard. I did kamakazes all night. Somehow, I didn't even get a buzz then. I was a failure. lolol

I usually get a natural high when I go to big events! I won't be drinking much. I don't want to be tripping all over the place. I have horrible balance normally =)

I see nothing wrong with having a drink or two. I generally don't drink very much on a regular night out (maybe 1-3 drinks max). I'll probably have a glass or two of white wine (so the red doesn't stain my teeth!)

I would stick with something you are used to drinking. If you are a wine drinker, your wedding day probably isn't the day to switch to Jack and Coke.

Carole my definition of "too drunk" is when you're passed out, lol.

Your wedding sounds like it was a great time.

I only had a few sips of our champagne and that was it. I'm such a lightweight that even one glass of wine gets me nearly buzzed. Not to mention I'd have to pee a hundred times and I was not about to attempt that if I wasn't totally coherent.

Labake.....Thank you Labake! It was a very fun weekend. That is also my definition of being "too drunk". Okay, one is also too drunk if they start dancing on bar stools and stripping. Not that I would know anything about that. ; ) And, no there were no bar stools at our venue(Thank GOd).

For Cate's wedding, I will have a difficult balance. I will keep my beer chugging in check. Her step-mother is an embarrassing nasty drunk. So, I figure she will be the focus of making an ass of herself.

I will be drinking Smiley smile. Ive never suffered memory loss with previous consumption levels so I should be okay. Lol if I wasn't drinking everyone would think I was pregnant Smiley winking. We may even do a few shots!

Ah my favorite shot in the world is a german chocolate cake shot, so good! It's making me want one right now lol. It's basically a hazelnut flavored liquor (Frangelico is the best!), vanilla vodka, a bit of sugar and bite of lemon.

I typically don't drink beer or wine. Not really a champagne drinker either. I enjoy cocktails

For ME, I will be having a mimosa while getting ready and then a couple of glasses of my moscato during the reception. I'm not a big drinker and my wedding day won't change that.

We'll probably have some mimosas or champagne while we're getting ready and I will likely get kinda tipsy. FH will most likely be pretty drunk but we are paying for the open bar so we're gonna enjoy it. I'm not one to get sloppy drunk anyway and I warned FH I will cut him off when I think he's gone too far. We only need to stumble down the hall anyway so no one will get hurt.

Well...I should say I hope to be drinking. We had a little mishap a few weeks ago and should find out this weekend if it resulted in a new addition to the family...in which case I will not get to enjoy our open bar.
