For DIY projects, my sister is making our table flower arrangements. We found a dried flower vendor that we can purchase flowers by the ounce. She is making them slowly several months ahead of the wedding. We are saving $15 per arrangement, and at 15 tables, that can add up! Our other DIY is the place settings. We are having a seated dinner, and are using stamps to indicate meal choice. Name cards? We have a 2-3” fancy hole punch that we are printing names on card stock and attaching them to a s’mores kit at their place for the bon Fire following the reception.

I wanted a 1940s style knee-tea length dress for my wedding, but I simply could not find one. Wedding boutiques are disappearing quick, and they mostly carry traditional or modern full length gowns with trains. I spent one day trying on dresses at the biggest shop I could find. This helped me figure out what style of neckline and silhouette I needed. Then I took to the web and found a dress maker to build the dress I wanted. It was risky, but I ended up spending $108 on my dress, and another couple hundred to have it altered. All in all, I’m very satisfied with my dress, it’s exactly what I want, and it definitely didn’t break the bank!
