We hired Ashyana to cater our sangeet, post-Hindu ceremony and reception for our multi-day mixed Indian/American wedding. They catered indo-chinese options at the Sangeet, South Indian food at the lunch and North Indian food at the reception. The food was very good at the tasting, but everything ended up being even better at the events! The different food options were excellent across the board. The live dosa station in particular was awesome and the cocktail hour and reception dishes got rave reviews from guests (many went back for seconds). It was a great introduction to Indian food for some of our American guests who haven't tried Indian food before. Ashyana was also able to serve everything family-style and worked along side another vendor that provided some American food options. Everything was on time and Samar and his team did a wonderful job delivering on our needs and serving up amazing food!

My dream wedding came true at the Esplanade Lakes!! My fiancé and I decided to check out this venue the winter before our anticipated wedding date. On a very snowy evening, we met up with Janet at the venue and instantly fell in love with it! From day one, Janet was beyond helpful with orchestrating all the details of the wedding! She was always so eager to please us and to ensure our wedding day was the BEST DAY EVER... (which it was)! Any worry or question I had, Janet was there! Finally the day is here! We decided to have both the ceremony and the reception at the Esplanade Lakes. With the pristine frosted lake as a backdrop, the ceremony was beyond breathtaking!! It was like walking into a dream! The staff quickly turned the room around from ceremony to reception in about a hour and we were ready to get the party started! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was spectacular, and the staff was extraordinary!! I did not have a single worry the day of my wedding because of the outpouring of care and professionalism demonstrated by Janet and her staff! I would absolutely recommend this venue for any wedding, for any season!!!

We found the Esplanade Lakes entirely by chance. Since we'd never attended an event there, we were unaware of such a spectacular venue sitting right in our backyard. The pictures of this venue speak for its beauty, but this review aims to speak for the wonderful person that Janet Lobo is. It was just days short of a year before our big day, and I persisted in my frantic search for the appropriate venue. Complicating matters most was the fact that our events were scheduled for Labor Day weekend, and most if not all venues are naturally most sought after over long weekends. I drove to the Downers Grove DoubleTree to meet with an event manager, and was ever so fortunate to meet Janet. Finding others with her decades of hospitality experience would not be easy, but this woman will go beyond the moon and back for her clients. In an attempt to be as concise as possible, I cannot enumerate how much she did to assuage us in the tensest moments of the year-long planning process. So long as you hold up your end of the working relationship and do YOUR part to plan in a timely manner, you will not have a single regret hosting your event here. Admittedly, it is easy to get lost in the glamor of everything, but Janet is keen on reminding you that you can only plan so much until it's beyond your control. Of course, there will be a handful of small issues that escape even the most meticulous planning. This is where Janet's experience and savvy came into play; she dealt with everything skillfully, and none of our guests could identify any of the day's tiny shortcomings. Thank you Janet, a trillion times over, for making the final event of our wedding one we can never forget. In you we not only someone so adept and professional, but also a friend for life.
