Ashley was so kind and she did an AMAZING job on my wedding dress, and my mom’s mother of the bride’s dress. On my wedding dress, she altered the length of the dress and sleeves. I didn’t trip on my dress at all and the sleeves were a perfect length. Ashley also added the bustle on my dress and it was perfect and held through the whole night of dancing! She also made the corset tighter so my chest didn’t fall out and made the sleeves tighter in the shoulders. Her services are a good price for being specialized in bridal gowns, but don’t except alterations to be cheap because altering bridal gowns is not easy. Ex- my alterations costed $1000 but it was totally worth it to make me feel like a princess on my wedding day! My mom’s dress was nowhere near that expensive, but was still on the higher side. Again, it was totally worth it so don’t choose someone else just because they’re cheaper- Ashley is amazing at what she does!! I would 100% come back.

I had a beautiful experience shopping and buying here! Sarah W assisted me and I can tell she’s the kind of person who matches your vibe and could make anyone feel comfortable. She got a feel for what I wanted, then we walked around the store and she pointed out fabrics, shapes, and dress details to get an even better understanding of what I should try on. The store is spacious and open. I liked that I had my own space for me and my guests, but it was open enough to not feel claustrophobic. I ended up coming back after my first appointment to buy one of the dresses I first tried, and the buying experience was professional and smooth. The selection was great - a wide variety from eccentric to classic. It was also the best experience I had as a mid size bride. I am a standard size 12/14 and many of the dresses I tried on actually zipped, which did not happen at other stores, which makes it harder to tell if the style and fit is really right for you. I highly recommend for any bride!!

Where to start… first off, I was coming from a not-so-fun bridal experience at another boutique. Sweet Elegance was second on the docket for wedding dress shopping that day and they did not disappoint (so much so I cancelled my third appointment!). Meg instantly made myself and my family feel welcome! She listened to what idea of a wedding dress I had in mind and made the process super seamless. Coming back 13 years later, (we also came here for my older sister’s wedding dress!) we could not be happier that I FOUND MY DREAM DRESS at Sweet Elegance!! 11/10 experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Purchased my wedding dress today and LOVED my experience! Katie was so patient and listened to what I liked and didn’t like about different dresses and made great suggestions and gave advice on things to be cognizant of when trying them on. They had a wonderful selection at different price points and made the whole experience so enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend A Formal Occasion to any bride looking for the perfect dress!

First, I had no idea I lived so close to this shop. This was my second bridal shop I visited. I came in with a list of dress styles that I pulled from the website. I essentially didn't get to try any of them on. One of the shop reps brought me a new Mori Lee gown that had just launched that season. I was in awe of how gorgeous, although not my initial scope of style. I took plenty of videos and pictures of the 4 dresses I tried on and went to 3 other shops the remainder of the month. Overall, I came back to Formally Yours and deposited on the Mori Lee gown and I received it less than 2 months later from oversees. My wedding didn't take place till the following 15 months later, I was lucky enough to land the dress before the venue! Moral of the story, be open minded and flexible in your gown decisions. The staff is great at projecting what may work for you and you may just end up satisfied.
