I almost want to keep this place a secret, but then again, I'm not trying to plan another wedding anytime soon! The value of this place is outstanding; every other venue I looked at wanted so much more for so much less. The only thing we didn't have was a DoC, but I hadn't planned on having one either, so that was fine. We did have a minor issue with the boiler breaking in the old part of the house I was using for cocktail hour, but the staff was SO helpful in finding a ton of space heaters so my guests wouldn't freeze for the 30 minutes while the ballroom was flipped for dinner. None of my guests really even noticed, everyone was so caught up in how gorgeous the old house was.

The food was on point, which was something I was a little nervous about - I planned from 8 hours away and my schedule didn't allow for me to come up for a tasting (I sprung my two visits on them last minute, so that's just completely on me). They were more than happy to allow me to bring in my own desserts and didn't charge to cut/serve my cake. They DO have a chocolate fountain and provide dippers for a good price - my guests absolutely loved it! The responsiveness was so fast too! I never waited more than a few hours for an answer, even for the most inane questions.

I was also able to decorate the space how I wanted to - we did a lot of DIY decorations. The only limit was no live animals, so if you want your dog to be involved, this may not be your venue. My pup was content to sleep over at a Rover sitter in the area though!

Overall this was such a beautiful venue and I'm glad I stumbled on it (on google maps of all places!). My only caution is that they say the ballroom holds 150, but we had ~80 (plus photog/DJ) and that seemed more of the number I'd like to have. I think 150 would be a little bit full for the room, but I think in the summer when things can be set up outside that might not be as much of a issue.
