The Whittemore House is a beautiful historic preservation mansion available for weddings and private event rentals of all types. Located in the heart of Dupont Circle, Washington, DC, we’re the perfect spot for your event needs.
Nine enchanted rooms of varying size make the space an ideal setting for private parties, weddings and special events. Each is unique in character and beautifully furnished with antiques, art and political memorabilia. The mansion is special in that none of its public rooms are square or rectangular. A charming courtyard also provides a comfortable outdoor setting for guests to enjoy.
The Whittemore House is unique in that we offer all-inclusive capabilities. Whatever it is you want for your event, our team can make it happen. We offer in-house catering, premium bar options, A/V systems and rentals (chairs, tables, utensils, linens, etc.) Our Event Coordinator, Ric, will work with you to plan the menu that suits your needs.

The Women’s National Democratic Club is an amazing venue. Everyone tells you when you get married that something will go wrong at your wedding – but that didn’t happen to us. Walter and the other staff at the venue made sure everything went perfectly. They were responsive, set up everything and managed the event so that we could focus on the big day. The bartender and wait staff were also amazing with our guests and made sure everyone had a fun time. From making sure the ceremony was perfect to managing the big moments like the cake cutting – the staff was friendly, professional and handled everything from start to finish. They were also extremely helpful during the wedding planning process, recommended vendors and helped us make key decisions. We are so glad we went with them. I don’t think you will receive the same attention at any other venue in the city.
