I absolutely loved my wedding at Whispering Dreams! Everything was so beautiful, and all of my guests raved about it. The only thing that could have been better was if it had not been so hot that day, but it was August. Joley made everything so easy for us, so we didn't have to worry about a thing that day.

The venue is very affordable and very beautiful. Brenda was very helpful with getting everything organized

Brenda truly saved our Wedding.
Our original wedding venue we had booked for a year and a half prior to our wedding day, cancelled on us 8 days before our wedding (7/26/2025). We searched and searched for venues that would be able to accommodate us on such short notice, with everything already planned, timelines finalized, etc. Brenda answered the phone and immediately said come check it out. We drove there, she gave us a tour and rundown of the beautiful venue and let our wedding happen. She truly holds a special place in our heart, as if it wasn’t for her letting us in with open arms and working with us, our wedding wouldn’t have happened. The venue is absolutely stunning. From the long driveway entrance to the barn, white fencing, there are absolutely zero eye sores and we were wowed that we haven’t heard of this place before. She is the sweetest lady, loves to chat with you & truly cares about your wedding day and her beautiful property. The only downfall is that the barn does not have AC and on a summer day it is very warm in there. Definitely recommend this beautiful venue for your Wedding day!

Had our daughter's wedding here last weekend. Everything was absolutely perfect! The staff was wonderful and so helpful! They basically did everything for us including decorating and clean up!

I attended the open house and a tour of this beautiful venue. Brenda and Debbie were extremely helpful and educational. They took the time to explain all of my wedding options in detail and were very accommodating in finding a day/time to complete a contract. Everything has been easy sailing! I would highly recommend! Definitely a must see venue!

My fiancé and I looked at Whispering Dreams at Star Lakes Farm and this venue and property is absolutely beautiful and stunning. Brenda was so sweet and kind with answering all of our questions and was so understanding of our situation. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone!

I was the first wedding at Whispering Dreams:

Leading up to the wedding, Brenda - the owner, was very kind and cooperative with me, as I was planning my wedding from out of state. She insisted on having no contract, that everything would be easygoing - that should have been my first sign - but I went onward.

The day of the wedding was beautiful. Her farm is beautiful, she had allowed me to come decorate the barn the day before and everything was perfect.

I didn’t learn until a few days after the wedding, that apparently my ten year old cousin was throwing rocks in the field to see how far he could throw (he stopped when he was told, he is just a kid, and my mother picked up the rocks) however Brenda did not that think was adequate, she apparently smacked the ten year old. When my god father approached her about it, she threw water on him in his suit. I had a stressful week - I let it go.

A week went by and my photographer had messaged me asking me if Brenda was allowed to use the photos she took for publicity reasons - after everything that happened, I said no. Screen shots of these photos later appeared on my timeline from Brenda. I decided to vaguely post to my own timeline that I was uncomfortable with other people sharing my photos - not mentioning anybody by name. Brenda privately messaged me and told me that she "thought it was understood that she could use my pictures.” I didn’t reply, again, I let it go.

Tonight, Brenda messaged me asking to review her venue. I messaged her back about the events that had transpired and about photos - she told me that she was “sorry I felt that way," denied hitting the kid (multiple guests witnessed it), and denied posting my photographer's photos (they were still blatantly on her timeline).

So my review of the venue: it is beautiful; however, the venue owner: hit a child during my reception, threw water at my guests, stole my photographers photos without permission, and was just overall rude and disrespectful as soon as the check cleared.

Got married here a few years ago but I was asked to write a review about our experience. The venue itself was beautiful and made for great photos, but that’s about as far as I’ll go. Brenda was extremely controlling and hard to deal with, both leading up and during our wedding day. After we pushed back on her trying to charge us for chairs and other items we didn’t need or want, she threatened for us to “just go find another venue then” a week before the wedding. On our wedding day, she hid our sparklers and table cloths, told the caterers to serve food before we entered the reception, made our photographer move her car 3 different times (after telling her where to park each time), and forced everyone out of the venue before our agreed upon ending time. A wedding day is already stressful enough, don’t add to it by booking this venue.

WARNING to anyone considering. The niceness you may experience up front turns into controlling rudeness after the check clears. The owner Brenda seemed more concerned about when she would allow our guests to eat our cookies and packing some up for herself and hiding them instead of the fact that the mother of the groom had to plunge toilets in the middle of the reception because none of them would work!! She tried to say the boxes of cookies were for the bride and groom but only one box went to them and she packed additional ones up and hid them, just like she did at rehearsal dinner. (We have pictures) Brenda also took a beer right out of a guests hand telling him that he could only have one. When the guest explained that the other was for the groom, she told him to tell the groom to “ get a beer himself!” This was BEFORE the bar closed. I have never left a negative review for anyone before but I don’t want anyone to fall into the same trap we did. Beware!

Absolutely nothing they say when booking is the truth, get a contract before you hand over a check make sure you know what your paying for. We were told we have the place to 11:00 however they shut our bar down at 9:15 literally took drinks out of guests hands. I paid for 4 bartenders, only had 2 the other two were not aloud to pour alcohol in drinks because they were not certified, yet they were supposed to have 4 certified bar tenders as I paid for them. Also chased me down because guest wanted cookies from the cookie table, I asked her to open cookie table. She then blocked the room off, my guests baked them not sure what the big deal was it should have been open all evening she only wanted to open the room at 8:00 PM. We all know older guest eat want there desserts and want to get on the road. Point being it was our wedding they fought of over every single detail. I would never deal with them again and that’s a shame because it’s a beautiful venue. The stress they caused the last two weeks and wedding day was so uncalled for!!!
