Cavallo Fields

We had our reception here last month and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Annette and her staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and the venue was absolutely gorgeous.

We had an issue with our florist (please do not use Copper Petal!!) and when Annette found out while we were getting ready, she stopped what she was doing to let us know she was going to fix it without anyone asking her to do so. She drove all over Latrobe and Greensburg to pick up the wilted corsages/boutonnieres from my parent’s house, drove back to Cavallo to bring them back to life, then drove to the church to pin them all on correctly. She saved the day, the flowers looked beautiful, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Our caterer forgot cookie plates and Annette quietly found plates without me knowing until the day after. Her staff brought us hors d’oeuvres while we took photos during cocktail hour without us asking and kept us on track the entire night. We had to cut set-up short the day before to get to the church rehearsal on time, and Annette volunteered to add the finishing touches to our decor so we wouldn’t be late. Everyone at Cavallo went above and beyond, and I can’t say enough great things about this place. It was truly the best day and we are so grateful.

PLEASE avoid Copper Petal for your florist - I believe she is still on the preferred vendor list and their beautiful arrangements are not worth the heartache. I had asked to pick up the reception florals and corsages/bouts the day before to set up and distribute them, but Copper Petal let me know they could just drop it off to make it easier on us. It was chaotic when we got to the barn, and Jayne (the florist) showed us where she dropped the reception florals/swags off and how to attach the swags, but forgot to tell us where she put the corsages/bouts. I forgot as well since we were so pressed for time, which was my fault. I didn’t realize she never gave them to us until we were on our way to the rehearsal. I emailed her to ask if I could get them later that night but she informed me she left them in the catering fridge in the barn. Perfect, I let Annette know I would just get them the next morning instead of making her go back and unlock the barn. Turns out the “fridge” she put them in was visibly unplugged and propped open with a door. Suffice to say the florals were wilted/half dead. When Jayne came to drop off our bouquets the morning of the wedding, I was crying in the other room, so my MOH explained very civilly the fridge was not a working fridge and we needed any extra florals she had to replace the wilted ones. Jayne got very defensive and became nasty - blaming everything on me, telling her she had no more florals, we will not be getting a refund (which my MOH never asked for) and refusing to help us fix the situation. My mother sarcastically mentioned leaving a great review, which Jayne heard and informed everyone she turned off ALL REVIEWS on every platform and wished us luck getting our experience out there. It makes you wonder how many bad experiences and similar situations the Copper Petal had before us to figure out how to turn off customer reviews. I thought maybe we were too close to the situation and biased, but as soon as Jayne left, our makeup artist and hair stylist were so appalled they spoke up without us asking - that we were spoken to that way and blamed for something that was clearly the florist’s mistake. Avoid Copper Petal if you can!
