Vanessa discovered photography at an early age and later studied photography in Austin, Texas. She has been photographing weddings since 2007.

I had a very specific vision for my wedding photographs and Vanessa brought that dream to life. Everyone we have shared our wedding album with (which has been a lot of people) has been extremely impressed. She highlighted all of the natural beauty of the space around us in a way that far surpassed my expectations and truly feels magical. Her photos feel earthy and natural in a way I haven’t seen in other photographers. I know that we are going to treasure these photos for a long time to come. I also really liked how she let the day flow really naturally without getting in the way, and she helped us feel at ease for the portraits, which helped me ease any nerves.

Gorgeous Photos From an Expert Photographer
It was a joy to work with Vanessa and we are in love with our wedding photos. She was exceedingly professional, kind, and just an easy person to talk to. We had a tight window and Vanessa made it all work to get the best shots. HIGHLY recommend her! Her high quality and expertise won't be beat.

BEST wedding photographer!
To say that I am obsessed with our wedding photos is an understatement. Vanessa and her second shooter did such an amazing job at our wedding! They got every shot I wanted and more. I still have family and friends commenting on how amazing our wedding photos are and I am so so happy we went with Vanessa. Prior to the wedding Vanessa was super responsive and helpful. She helped with the wedding timeline and always had helpful suggestions. She was super flexible and let me add on an extra hour about a week before the wedding. Day of she had such a calming presence and seriously was the best to work with. If her style is your vibe do not hesitate to book her, you won't regret it!

Vanessa was so amazing to work with. I had seen her previous work and I loved her style which translated so well to my wedding. She was professional and sincere and made our day totally chill. She worked elements that meant a lot to us into our photos, and brought out so many fun emotions of everyone involved into her work as well. More than ever expected!
My husband & I couldn't be more happy with Vanessa because her services were worth every penny! We were halfway through planning our wedding as covid initially hit. Between canceling & replanning our wedding, Vanessa made sure to make herself available to us. She helped us feel comfortable from the engagement session to our wedding day. This was our first time having a photographer, least to say we are no models, but damn did she make us look like we were! Vanessa made family photos a breeze & timely.. especially when I forgot to add some members to the list (oops). She was also so stealthy! A true wallflower in the best way b/c her photos proved that we put our trust in the right person to capture every moment! The list goes on; her friendly demeanor, positive words from guests, & personalizing our album. We couldn't be more grateful.. for her presence during a pandemic and for the endless amount of beautiful photos she's given us to look back on. Thank you!

Best photographer ever!
Vanessa Lain Photography! I mean wow! We are so grateful that we chose her as our wedding photographer. We were married in the Santa Cruz mountains and she blew us away. The light was always changing, because of clouds and trees, yet she knew exactly what to do and when. She directed us and made the entire process seamless. When it was time for the reception she blended in with our guests, we didn’t even know she was there! We have the BEST wedding photos with fun shots of everyone and couldn’t be more pleased. Our wedding day went by fast, so we are glad we went with such an amazing and professional photographer. We love the memories captured by her. Thank you Vanessa!

Beyond perfect.

Hire Vanessa - you will not regret it!!
Vanessa was AMAZING! From the first time talking on the phone, I could tell that she was incredibly professional, detail-oriented, responsive, talented, and easy-going. She makes you feel like you're the only wedding she has all season and always responded to quickly to any questions that came up. During the actual wedding day, she was so organized and on top of every little detail we had asked for beforehand yet brought this calm energy at the same time, which was so important to us during the chaotic day! The end results were AMAZING and we honestly didn't think it was possible for the pictures to turn out so well. She captured such beautiful, funny, and emotional candid shots that helped us relive our special day. Thank you for everything Vanessa, 100% recommend to any future bride/groom!

She became part of the family!
Vanessa was amazing! She was so easy to work with and basically became part of the family! She took control and got the portraits done quickly so we could all join the party. The candid shots she got during the reception truly captured the atmosphere! The photographs are gorgeous; the only problem I'm having is choosing which ones to print because they're all so good!!!
