The Uncommon Weddings (Photo + Video)

We chose Uncommon Weddings to cover both photo and video for our February wedding in Carmel after hours of research looking through social media, trying to find the best fit for what we want and our budget. We opted for their highest/most expensive package since it seemed worth it – and we were right! The whole team, Sway, Sean (lead videographer) and Camille (lead photographer) are very responsive from the start all the way to the end. Sean, Camille and their associates arrived on time, they were professional and worked seamlessly with all our other vendors. The crazy part is, I didn’t notice where they were at all during the ceremony and reception, but they were able to capture all the special parts, big or small, in a candid way that really captured how we felt during those moments! We also highlighted early on that our parents and our dog are very important to us, and it showed on our final photos and videos!

They delivered the photos and videos earlier than promised and are very accommodating with all the edit requests we had! For the photos, they already edited almost everything we would’ve chosen ourselves, we only had to ask for around 15 more edits just to capture a bit more and we are very happy with the results! Camille nailed our portraits shots too! And the team handled the colors and edits of those shots so perfectly, there’s really nothing much to ask for. 😊

Their video portfolio is the main reason we chose them; their style is exactly what we wanted and they didn’t disappoint! Our final highlight video is so beautiful, so well thought out, and it showcased our wedding in a way that we will truly cherish forever! The reception and ceremony videos are so well done too, we are so happy with the results! Sean really has the creative eye for this, and his vision aligned exactly with how we wanted our videos to feel. We can’t recommend the Uncommon Weddings enough!

From the very beginning, working with this team was such an incredible experience. They were professional, kind, patient, and genuinely so wonderful to have around on our wedding day. One of the things we appreciated most was how comfortable they made us feel — they captured everything beautifully without ever making us feel overwhelmed or “on camera.” Honestly, there were so many moments throughout the day where we barely even noticed they were there, yet somehow they captured every meaningful detail perfectly.

Throughout the entire editing process, they were beyond accommodating and so patient with us. The team was amazing! So many special moments were captured on our wedding day and it helped us relive the magic especially since the day went by so fast that we couldn't be as present as we wanted. Sway was SO helpful and accommodating with our edit requests when it came to our highlight video. He listened to all my requests and did exactly as I detailed. We loved the original highlight, but we were able to add in any additional clips we wanted during the complimentary round of revisions which made it even more perfect. We used Uncommon Weddings for our wedding this past summer in San Francisco and we could not be happier with our choice. We had a small ceremony on a Friday and then a multi-venue wedding on the following Saturday and we had uncommon videographers for each event. For both days, they were easily some of the most professional and easy to work with vendors of the entire day. We coordinated with Sway before the event and he was very communicative and receptive to any ideas or desires that we had. The pricing was also very upfront and understandable on their website and there were no surprise fees or gotchas. The videographers worked fantastically with our photographers and our wedding coordinator and were always in the right position to capture the moments that we had highlighted to them. They also provided subtle mics to use during all of our speeches. The videos themselves were beautiful and the turnaround time and digital delivery mechanism were also great. We don't have any complaints and can't recommend uncommon weddings highly enough!

We hired the Uncommon Weddings as our videographer for our wedding in December. This was a last-minute addition for us - we decided later on in the process to supplement our photography with video as well.

Sway was very communicative from start-to-finish, and made us feel at ease from one of our initial conversations.

During our day, Cliff was our videographer - he captured all of our heartfelt and humorous moments. Cliff did a great job navigating our physical spaces and ensuring that he and our photographer were always in synergy.

The video and highlight reels we received were evident of how much time the team spent editing and curating the content. Watching it for the first time made us very emotional, along with our friends and family that we shared it with. We also received a very cool video book!

Sway was an incredible person to work with throughout the wedding planning process. He excels in his communication and was very patient with our delayed responses during the chaotic wedding planning process. He is very organized, and you can tell his business is structured and organized. His communication and follow-up is consistent but not overbearing. We were on the fence about splurging on a videographer for our wedding; however, in the end, we are incredibly grateful to have the videos he provided to us. Nothing could capture the day better than the videos Sway gave us on the day of the wedding. Sway’s to employees were very personable and great to work with. We hardly knew they were there the day of our event. Overall, the experience working with Sway and his team was great. The Uncommon Weddings package was more affordable than a lot of the other quotes we received and the product we got was spectacular. They did a great job with the edits we asked for and were very open to suggestions. I would highly recommend Sway in his team to any of my friends or family members getting married or wanting a special day captured.

They have an extensive selection of music choices to include, but we opted to let them choose for us - and we are really glad we did!
