We had Tony as DJ for our “Christmas In July” wedding. Where to even start. He was nothing but amazing from beginning to end. Music is such an important part of any wedding. For our ceremony he was able to quickly and flawlessly edit 2 songs that we really wanted to use. He cropped my processional song so that it played the intro, my favorite part and reached the chorus in that short walk down the aisle time. He was also able to turn our other song into an instrumental version and it all worked out beautifully.

Tony was so great about quickly answering all of my questions along the way. He would check in and just made me feel at ease and excited for the big day rather than nervous. He also had the perfect uplights to give it the winter wonderland feels.

The whole wedding was an amazing whirlwind and the end was kind of a blur. But seeing pictures/vidoes of everyone dancing and having fun was everything to me. Tony was able to get everyone dancing, not just on the dance floor but all over the ballroom. People of all ages… and amazingly… people I did not expect to be dancing! Everyone said they had so much fun which was the most important thing for me. Definitely the best day of my life and Tony was a huge part of making it a success. He has such fun and positive energy. We all want another excuse to hire him again and just have a huge dinner dance party :)

Tony is amazing! He was very easy to get ahold of and super communicative throughout the entire planning process. He is very detailed oriented and organized and an overall delight to work with. His energy and playlist kept the guests dancing throughout the night. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing with Tony. We made the right choice by going with him for our special day.

Tony is amazing! He came to us in a pinch, when we thought we'd have no one for our wedding. He was very interactive with the wedding party and guests. He definitely kept the guests on the dance floor the entire night. His set was smooth and incorporated everything we wanted to hear. He's the best!

Tony was flexible and understanding as we rescheduled our wedding multiple times due to covid! We were behind on getting information to him (we’re talking 4 or 5 days before the wedding we sent song choice and inspiration over) and he was so kind about it - never did he make it feel stressful which we so appreciated! At the wedding, he knew exactly what to play to get our wedding party up, singing and dancing in front of the photographer - it was perfect! Later in the evening, when it was mostly older folks on the dance floor, he knew what to play to keep them happy and moving too! Also the social booth add-on was cool, I have some really good photos and boomerangs of us and our guests from that. Would definitely recommend!

Before I get into it, just book Tony, it will be one of the best decisions you can make for your wedding day.

Our wedding was one of the best parties of our lives thanks to The DJ Hawaii (aka Tony So). We have the somewhat now-typical COVID wedding story where we were supposed to get married December 2020 but then we decided to push the date back a full year. So we had been in contact with Tony since Fall of 2019, and had overall been keeping in touch with him for OVER two years. When we had our intimate wedding ceremony with just family in 2020, we even asked Tony to create playlists for the entire evening so we felt like we had a DJ there and he delivered without even being there!

Fast forward to our new date in 2021. After much anticipation, anxiety and over two years of planning, we were finally were able to have our wedding in Hawaii. Tony not only served as just one of our vendors throughout the process, he gave us planning advice, kept us updated on what was going on on the island (regarding daily Covid restriction changes) and was just an amazing resource overall. He is personable, responsive, and has a warm personality and working with him doesn't feel like a typical wedding vendor business relationship. He embodies the welcoming and laid back vibe of the islands.

I want to emphasize that my husband and I were always pretty adamant that we wanted a DJ and not a live band. This is because DJ's have more flexibility in terms of adjusting to the crowd, the vibe and changing genres more effortlessly. Tony was able to do this to perfection. Tony can read a room and was able to adjust the music to match the energy from us and our guests. This became apparent when a lot of us started dancing while the servers were trying to serve dinner. This pretty much set the tone for the night as we were asked to sit down so could be served our dinner lol.

Needless to say, Tony absolutely killed it. The music and transitions were so on point and it kept our guests on their feet for 4-5 hours. We still have friends asking if they can fly Tony to the East Coast for their weddings (that's saying something). So if you're thinking about your wedding entertainment, look no further. You will find everything you need and more with Tony. Music truly sets the tone for your wedding and is one of the most important considerations for the guests' experience. Pretty napkins and centerpieces will kind of go out the window when you start having so much with your friends and family and the music is a HUGE part of that. Book Tony NOW. Tony was AWESOME; from the initial meeting to selecting what type of music to play, responding to updates/messages, to MC'ing the wedding, and finally bringing down the house with the music. Tony knows how to captivate the guests and keep them on the dance floor! He played the right songs at the right time to make sure the dance floor was never empty! He also did a great job at keeping the wedding reception program on-time and running smoothly. We and our guests had a blast during our reception thanks to Tony! I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes look at the wedding DJ process after my fiancé and I locked down our friend Tony (The DJ Hawaii) to mix at our wedding. Tony spent a great deal of time going over our desires and expectations as well as his suggestions as a seasoned wedding DJ. He started by having us fill out “The DJ Hawaii Planner” worksheet. This got my fiancé and I organized and provided space for us to list everything from songs we wanted played at cocktail hour, to the name of our florist, family VIPs, wedding details, etc. I felt so relieved that he sought out so much information since he would be helping emcee and orchestrate the flow of the day.

After we turned in our worksheet, we met up with Tony for brunch to review and brainstorm. He was so professional and explained that from studying our worksheet, he already had a good idea of our style and the vibe we were going for at the wedding. He also described his game plan and how he would be matching song tempos to aid with smooth transitions while simultaneously reading the crowd to see what to play next- wow.

After the meeting, we kept in contact with Tony to solidify details. He was quick to respond and was always so kind and understanding of a little bridal indecisiveness- lol. Additionally, he handled all the logistics for his DJ equipment rental and travel for my destination wedding o

Tony made our night! He was our DJ & emcee on the Lagoon Lawn at the Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina. He was super upbeat and positive, and read the crowd really well - trust him and don't try to direct every song choice. He was totally willing to coordinate with my brother who wanted to do the bridal party introduction. He ran the sound for the ceremony and for the reception he was able to find some specific songs for our Aussie friends and then for our Detroit/Motown friends, as well as a traditional Italian song - he really wanted to make our night perfect. We highly recommend Tony So as a DJ/Emcee!

Tony was worth every penny! My husband and I were impressed at how he was able to keep the majority of the guests on the dance floor the entire night. We are not big music people but we gave him examples of songs we liked and he took it from there. We do not live in Hawaii so it was tough figuring out who we wanted to use. The price range for DJs are pretty wide but if it sounds too good to be true, you may not want to go with them. Tony was on the mid-higher end than all of the ones I researched but once we met with him, we instantly knew that we wanted to go with him. He has a ton of years of experience, and has the best personality. He was very responsive with email and was flexible in meeting with us when we only had a small window open to meet. It sounds like Tony is well-known and has a great reputation in Hawaii. I would not skimp on your DJ/MC. He definitely had a huge part in making our wedding day a memorable and enjoyable night for us and all of our guests!

My husband and I were referred to Tony So by another vendor we used in our recent wedding. We're so glad to have met Tony and use him as our DJ and emcee! Tony has met with us several times during our wedding planning months, and he's so friendly, honest and easy to talk to. There were times we were unsure about things during our planning, but Tony's confidence and reassurance made us feel better.
