Best day ever

We had Tony as DJ for our “Christmas In July” wedding. Where to even start. He was nothing but amazing from beginning to end. Music is such an important part of any wedding. For our ceremony he was able to quickly and flawlessly edit 2 songs that we really wanted to use. He cropped my processional song so that it played the intro, my favorite part and reached the chorus in that short walk down the aisle time. He was also able to turn our other song into an instrumental version and it all worked out beautifully.

Tony was so great about quickly answering all of my questions along the way. He would check in and just made me feel at ease and excited for the big day rather than nervous. He also had the perfect uplights to give it the winter wonderland feels.

The whole wedding was an amazing whirlwind and the end was kind of a blur. But seeing pictures/vidoes of everyone dancing and having fun was everything to me. Tony was able to get everyone dancing, not just on the dance floor but all over the ballroom. People of all ages… and amazingly… people I did not expect to be dancing! Everyone said they had so much fun which was the most important thing for me. Definitely the best day of my life and Tony was a huge part of making it a success. He has such fun and positive energy. We all want another excuse to hire him again and just have a huge dinner dance party :)

Absolutely Amazing

Tony is amazing! He was very easy to get ahold of and super communicative throughout the entire planning process. He is very detailed oriented and organized and an overall delight to work with. His energy and playlist kept the guests dancing throughout the night. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing with Tony. We made the right choice by going with him for our special day.

Dj Tony- booty shaker!

Tony is amazing! He came to us in a pinch, when we thought we'd have no one for our wedding. He was very interactive with the wedding party and guests. He definitely kept the guests on the dance floor the entire night. His set was smooth and incorporated everything we wanted to hear. He's the best!

Knew how to get us!

Tony was flexible and understanding as we rescheduled our wedding multiple times due to covid! We were behind on getting information to him (we’re talking 4 or 5 days before the wedding we sent song choice and inspiration over) and he was so kind about it - never did he make it feel stressful which we so appreciated! At the wedding, he knew exactly what to play to get our wedding party up, singing and dancing in front of the photographer - it was perfect! Later in the evening, when it was mostly older folks on the dance floor, he knew what to play to keep them happy and moving too! Also the social booth add-on was cool, I have some really good photos and boomerangs of us and our guests from that. Would definitely recommend!

The Best Party of Our Lives- Mahalo DJ Hawaii!

Before I get into it, just book Tony, it will be one of the best decisions you can make for your wedding day.

Our wedding was one of the best parties of our lives thanks to The DJ Hawaii (aka Tony So). We have the somewhat now-typical COVID wedding story where we were supposed to get married December 2020 but then we decided to push the date back a full year. So we had been in contact with Tony since Fall of 2019, and had overall been keeping in touch with him for OVER two years. When we had our intimate wedding ceremony with just family in 2020, we even asked Tony to create playlists for the entire evening so we felt like we had a DJ there and he delivered without even being there!

Fast forward to our new date in 2021. After much anticipation, anxiety and over two years of planning, we were finally were able to have our wedding in Hawaii. Tony not only served as just one of our vendors throughout the process, he gave us planning advice, kept us updated on what was going on on the island (regarding daily Covid restriction changes) and was just an amazing resource overall. He is personable, responsive, and has a warm personality and working with him doesn't feel like a typical wedding vendor business relationship. He embodies the welcoming and laid back vibe of the islands.

I want to emphasize that my husband and I were always pretty adamant that we wanted a DJ and not a live band. This is because DJ's have more flexibility in terms of adjusting to the crowd, the vibe and changing genres more effortlessly. Tony was able to do this to perfection. Tony can read a room and was able to adjust the music to match the energy from us and our guests. This became apparent when a lot of us started dancing while the servers were trying to serve dinner. This pretty much set the tone for the night as we were asked to sit down so could be served our dinner lol.

Needless to say, Tony absolutely killed it. The music and transitions were so on point and it kept our guests on their feet for 4-5 hours. We still have friends asking if they can fly Tony to the East Coast for their weddings (that's saying something). So if you're thinking about your wedding entertainment, look no further. You will find everything you need and more with Tony. Music truly sets the tone for your wedding and is one of the most important considerations for the guests' experience. Pretty napkins and centerpieces will kind of go out the window when you start having so much with your friends and family and the music is a HUGE part of that. Book Tony NOW. He's not only insanely good at what he does, but he's also become an amazing friend. We love you Tony!

So awesome!

Tony was AWESOME; from the initial meeting to selecting what type of music to play, responding to updates/messages, to MC'ing the wedding, and finally bringing down the house with the music. Tony knows how to captivate the guests and keep them on the dance floor! He played the right songs at the right time to make sure the dance floor was never empty! He also did a great job at keeping the wedding reception program on-time and running smoothly. We and our guests had a blast during our reception thanks to Tony! I absolutely recommend The DJ Hawaii to anyone and everyone.

I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes look at the wedding DJ process after my fiancé and I locked down our friend Tony (The DJ Hawaii) to mix at our wedding. Tony spent a great deal of time going over our desires and expectations as well as his suggestions as a seasoned wedding DJ. He started by having us fill out “The DJ Hawaii Planner” worksheet. This got my fiancé and I organized and provided space for us to list everything from songs we wanted played at cocktail hour, to the name of our florist, family VIPs, wedding details, etc. I felt so relieved that he sought out so much information since he would be helping emcee and orchestrate the flow of the day.

After we turned in our worksheet, we met up with Tony for brunch to review and brainstorm. He was so professional and explained that from studying our worksheet, he already had a good idea of our style and the vibe we were going for at the wedding. He also described his game plan and how he would be matching song tempos to aid with smooth transitions while simultaneously reading the crowd to see what to play next- wow.

After the meeting, we kept in contact with Tony to solidify details. He was quick to respond and was always so kind and understanding of a little bridal indecisiveness- lol. Additionally, he handled all the logistics for his DJ equipment rental and travel for my destination wedding o

Tony made our night! He was our DJ & emcee on the Lagoon Lawn at the Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina. He was super upbeat and positive, and read the crowd really well - trust him and don't try to direct every song choice. He was totally willing to coordinate with my brother who wanted to do the bridal party introduction. He ran the sound for the ceremony and for the reception he was able to find some specific songs for our Aussie friends and then for our Detroit/Motown friends, as well as a traditional Italian song - he really wanted to make our night perfect. We highly recommend Tony So as a DJ/Emcee!

Tony was worth every penny! My husband and I were impressed at how he was able to keep the majority of the guests on the dance floor the entire night. We are not big music people but we gave him examples of songs we liked and he took it from there. We do not live in Hawaii so it was tough figuring out who we wanted to use. The price range for DJs are pretty wide but if it sounds too good to be true, you may not want to go with them. Tony was on the mid-higher end than all of the ones I researched but once we met with him, we instantly knew that we wanted to go with him. He has a ton of years of experience, and has the best personality. He was very responsive with email and was flexible in meeting with us when we only had a small window open to meet. It sounds like Tony is well-known and has a great reputation in Hawaii. I would not skimp on your DJ/MC. He definitely had a huge part in making our wedding day a memorable and enjoyable night for us and all of our guests!

My husband and I were referred to Tony So by another vendor we used in our recent wedding. We're so glad to have met Tony and use him as our DJ and emcee! Tony has met with us several times during our wedding planning months, and he's so friendly, honest and easy to talk to. There were times we were unsure about things during our planning, but Tony's confidence and reassurance made us feel better. On the night of our reception (and even days after), our guests told us that the music was great and the program ran smoothly! He added last minute song requests from my maid of honor, and he knew what kind of music to play to get people on their feet! With Tony's help, my husband also surprised me with a monogram that was displayed in our reception room. :-) We appreciate his work and attentiveness during our special night. Tony is the man! Our initial phone call was great, he definitely has a sense of humor. My wife and I aren't the type of people who wanted to choose every song for our wedding, especially when it came time for everyone to dance. We felt overwhelmed with everything going on and all the planning that the last thing we wanted to do was create a massive playlist.
Tony took care of everything after a few suggestions on our part, and a handful of questions from him. DJ Tony had the entire wedding jumping all night, it was absolutely insane! Seriously, we even had grandparents getting down on the dance floor. Everyone had such a good time that we would have stayed and danced all night had there not been a curfew at the venue.

Thanks Tony, you're the man!

Tony made our wedding!!
We hired Tony as our DJ and Emcee through email all the way from Australia. He was so helpful and easy to work with.
When we arrived in Hawaii we met with Tony and he made sure he knew what we wanted and really got the feel for the guests and type of wedding we were having.
Our wedding was a small one, of about 20 guests, our biggest fear was the night would become dull but we can honestly say Tony made sure it was everything BUT dull. Everyone had the best time and Tony even narrated a game in great spirit!
We would recommend DJ Tony So to ANYONE getting married in Hawaii, he is the best!

We hired DJ Tony based on recommendation from our wedding planner. We loved that he was able to provide DJ and emcee services. It makes all the difference in the world to hire a professional DJ and emcee. Though people would love to save money by having one of their friends' do the emceeing, I will say that it's worth it to hire a professional. It takes a lot of the stress and pressure off your friends and family who would be taking this role. It's better to leave it to a professional who has done this a million times over and over again.

DJ Tony is professional, he's personable, and he's super flexible and fun! He's a really nice guy, and he's easy to talk to. We immediately clicked with him when we met him the day of our wedding. We had sent him e-mails prior to the wedding, including song lists and special requests that we had. He was able to go with the flow and everything went perfect, including the surprise mother-son dance that my husband planned behind my back! For a minute, I thought DJ Tony truly messed up! He was in on the surprise the entire time! He's good at keeping secrets and acting as well. = )

There was never a dull moment! The dance floor was completely packed the entire night! Many of our guests have told us that this was the "most fun", "most entertaining", and "most organized" wedding they have ever been to. Many of those comments are due to great vendors we chose to be a part of our dream team!

Whatever you do, DO NOT skimp on the entertainment or DJ. This will make or break your party. It definitely sets the tone for your party. DJ Tony is worth it! Highly recommend him and his services.

When I first met Tony, I asked for one thing - to have an epic dance party - and that's exactly what he gave us! His music selection during our reception was brilliant. He definitely acknowledged my music taste as well as made sure our guests was enjoying them too. At one point, all our guests were on the dance floor busting their moves! It was one of the best moments of the night all thanks to Tony and his team!

Besides his DJ skills, Tony is diligent and responsive, which was very helpful for us as we were planning a destination wedding (we're originally from Singapore). He was easy going and always helpful when we worked on the music choices and timeline. I'm so glad to have met Tony and he really made our wedding night special.

Tony was the perfect choice for our wedding. We decided to do a destination wedding so we knew a lot of the planning was going to be via word of mouth and therefore needed vendors that were easy to work with and on top of their game. Every time I asked for a DJ referral Tony was always on the top of the list. Everyone said how easy he was to work with and how professional he was and boy he certainly delivered. I spoke to Tony one time to do a quick interview and immediately knew he was our guy. For the next 6 weeks or so leading up to the wedding we exchanged a few emails and got the basics out of the way. When we got to Hawaii a few days before the wedding we met in person and to be honest did all the planning in an hr or so. I'm ashamed to say I didn't really do the homework I needed to but it didn't matter because I trusted Tony would take charge and make sure my guests had a good time. We literally picked our first dance, mother son dance, and father daughter dance on the fly and each of his suggestions was perfect!!! And as for general music selections? I still to this day get complimented on his catalog of tunes that night and how he even got our most stubbornest of guests to boogie. I highly recommend anyone to use Tony and you will not be disappointed.

If we could give Tony more than 5 stars for professionalism we totally would! He is so on top of it and detailed in his work. This man truly takes pride in his work and does his job VERY well. His customer services is great and he is very attentive. I highly recommend him to all brides and grooms who are looking for a great DJ who knows what to play and when to play it. For our low budget wedding, our big splurge was definitely in hiring Tony So as our DJ and Emcee. Tony made our wedding stress-free, fun and memorable. If you are looking for a professional, funny and amazing DJ/ Emcee, Tony is your guy. When I first met Tony he told me that he had the ability to get people on the dance floor to dance. At first I was a little skeptical, because I’ve been to weddings, where people are often too shy to dance. SURPRISE! Our dance floor was packed! Even our grandparents were all dancing.
What I loved best about working with Tony was how quick he was to respond to every e-mail I sent. I always heard back from him promptly. On multiple occasions he actually initiated by checking-in to see if I needed any help or if I had any questions.
Tony met with my husband and I multiple times to iron out our timeline, and provided us with a lot of useful tips and questions that he recommended we ask our vendors ahead of time. At our last meeting he ran through the timeline and script with us again, which put me at ease. I felt like I didn’t have to worry about anything for my reception. He also provided us with excellent templates that helped to keep us organized throughout the planning process.
He also recommended us to some great vendors, like Photobox. We felt very taken care of from our first meeting to just gain information about his services all the way to the end of our reception.
Tony was on-time for our wedding, and did an amazing job uplighting our ballroom. The best part of the night was his music choice. I loved that his dinner music, matched our taste completely (Colbie Caillet, Jason Mraz, etc). From meeting us, he really got a great sense of what mood we wanted to set. He definitely isn’t one of those “showy” Emcees, that steals the show, but he kept our program moving perfectly. We didn’t have to worry about any inappropriate jokes/comments, or unplanned speeches. We could not recommend him more highly. He was responsive and so helpful with every aspect of our wedding.

Tony performed the Emcee duties perfectly, he has such great attention to detail. In terms of his DJ services - we could not have asked for a better DJ. He had all the guests on their feet the entire night. My sister had requested a really new song - and even though he didn't actually have it - he somehow managed to find it and played it for us.

Tony made the reception fun and made sure that everything ran smoothly. He is a true professional and treats every bride and groom like you're part of his family. We're so greatful to have had Tony as part of our wedding day.

Tony is amazing! I wish I could give him more stars since he totally made our wedding fabulous!!! My hotel events manager recommended Tony to us. He was a bit out of our budget since we did not plan to have a DJ but after contacting Tony he hooked us up with a great affordable rate within our budget! Not only is he extremely professional, genuine and amazing to work with but an overall GREAT GUY!!
This guy knows his music! He doesn't play the typical cheesy crap you hear at most weddings, but a great selection of the music we liked! He took the time to get to know our taste in music and also wanted to make sure he pronounce our names and bridal party names correctly. I've been to so many weddings where the DJ butchers the families' and bridal party's names so it was reassuring that he cared about this important detail.

He definitely got the crowd going and made our wedding one to remember! I would highly recommend Tony to all my friends and family. If you're considering a DJ for any event, go with TONY SO!!! He's AMAZING!!!

The first time meeting Tony was a memory that implanted in my brain. He was warm and inviting. He was one of the vendors I was did finally looking forward to seeing at our wedding. He got the part started and did everything he was asked. He did not mess up once on any of our requested songs. We brought an Arabic band with us from Australia which he worked with amazingly and they spoke nothing but great words on how accomidatimg Tony was. He has a warm heart and we where blessed to have him DJ our wedding. Tony was prepared for everything! Book him NOW get in early or you will be sorry :) much love to tony! XxxxxX

Tony was such a great person to work with. He listened to our needs and made suggestions/advice to make those ideas outstanding. He was very friendly, easy to talk to and very professional. Tony So was the DJ & MC at our daughter's wedding a Loulu Palms. He was awesome. We were worried that nobody would dance cause at most local weddings-we don't dance, we just sit around and talk story. Usually you see most of the people dig-out after the reception program when the dancing begins BUT NOT THIS WEDDING!!!. Our dance floor was too small, he played great music that everybody from grandmas, uncles, aunties, to the young teens and 20's guest could boogie to - it was great to see everybody getting down-no shame-shake your bootie and having a great time. How he does it is a mystery considering how humble and unassuming his is. He is very professional and doesn't overpower the reception to make it all about him. He totally made it all about the bride and groom. He kept our program amazingly moving on time. He kept track of everything which was great cause at times I was too busy with other stuff. He made it such a great reception that when he handed my daughter and my new son-n-law the microphone to say their final "thank yous" we couldn't beleive it was already over. We all absolutely loved Tony So, he is totally "the man". Thank you sooo much Tony for making my daughter's reception awesome.

Tony was amazing! He was our DJ and MC and did such a wonderful job, was very in tune with our guests and what songs would suit the mood. He was funny and professional and we were extremely happy with his level of customer service.

Blaise with the photobooth should also get a mention, as the photobooth was a huge hit! Definitely worth every penny spent.

Wedding Rule #1...choose a terrific DJ and Emcee. The DJ and Emcee will make or break your wedding reception. We chose Tony So. He is terrific! Everyone remarked on how much fun they had at our wedding. Tony got the crowd moving, encouraged everyone to dance, had a timeline to keep the reception on track and played awesome music. He had the ability to "read" the crowd, and adjust accordingly. He kept in contact with us, provided a clear understanding on what he would provide for our wedding, he provided us with a contract (in plain language), and there were no surprises. Tony is friendly, professional, honest and does a great job. We highly recommend him!

Where do I begin with Tony....let's see he's AWESOME! My wife and I are from Seattle so you can imagine the difficulties faced with planning a destination wedding. We had it at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and without Tony I'm not sure we would have made it through the week let alone the months prior to. Tony took the time to talk to us and really get to know us and what our family/guests were like. I'm Korean and my wife is Filipino so he had a good understanding of what our background/cultures were like. He even played the Electric Slide a Filipino must at weddings. To give you a little bit more about us we are both 29yrs old and our guest were mainly friends around the same age but also had a good amount of older/traditional family members. Tony worked with us every step of the way and let me say from experience having a good DJ is very important to ensure everything runs smoothly the day of the wedding. I initially overlooked this fact but so happy we booked Tony because he took away so much stress away by helping us with our timeline and he has so much knowledge about weddings he's like a wedding swiss army knife. If you have a wedding at the Hilton you have to book Tony because he will help you deal with the hotel (trust me pain in the behind) he knows all the ins/outs. Tony even agreed to meet with us at the hotel 4months prior to the wedding when we were there for a vacation/planning trip then again just days before the wedding. He's a life saver, he made the hotel re-arrange the reception tables/dance floors when they initially were hesitant and even helped us select our intro and father/daughter + mother/son dance. He acted as a buffer between us and the hotel venue something that was invaluable in itself. I don't even need to mention the music but if you have doubts he kept the party going and even both our parents were tearing it up on the dance floor, something I would not have expected in a million years. Tony is upfront, honest, easy going and nowhere near full of himself which I can't say about the other DJ's that I was in contact when I was doing my planning. If you can book him for your wedding I'd do it without hesitation.

The services that Tony provided Exceeded Expectation and it was a blessing for us to have him. What made him stand out in our selection process was his ability to answer all the technical questions, clear understanding that he’s hired to serve us, full time DJ/Emcee, work by contract, and his professionalism. Since our wedding was a destination wedding Tony made priceless contributions in regards to referring other venders, had good working relationships with the vendors already hired for our event, understood the importance of cultural differences, good listener, and because he posses a solid understanding of what makes a wedding successful his timeline refinement was valuable. In regards to his performance Tony spoke clearly as our Emcee, knew how to transition smoothly through the program, and his style of speaking was captured the entire audience. In regards to music, my wife and I only choose the entry song, first dance, and cake cutting song then Tony took over and used his ability to read the audience and picked the right songs. In conclusion, we were extremely grateful that Tony was our DJ/Emcee because he was a huge factor in making our dream wedding come true and I recommend his services to all my family and friends!

Tony is absolutely wonderful. He is thoughtful, reliable, courteous, professional, and goes above and beyond to make sure your wedding is perfect. Initially, I was concerned about planning our Hawaii wedding from Las Vegas, but Tony made things as easy as possible. He always returned my emails in a matter of hours, and went out of his way to accommodate our tight schedule to meet with us when we went back to Hawaii to visit family over the holidays.

As soon as we met Tony face to face, I felt completely at ease. Being from Hawaii but marrying someone from the mainland, we had a vast mix of cultures and age groups coming to the wedding. Tony brought them together beautifully and truly knew how to pick songs that appealed to a wide range of audiences. While we did not utilize him as an emcee, I almost wish we would have, as his charismatic nature really shown through as he got guests on the dance floor with his music choices and fun personality.

Tony also provided a music planner template, which helped us select songs for each moment...from entrance to first dance to cake cutting. When we were stumped, we emailed him, and he gave us great song choices with lyrics that really reflected the moment. I would highly recommend Tony to anyone, whether you are from Hawaii or having a destination wedding in Hawaii, Tony's experience in the industry and attention to detail ensures your music and atmosphere will be perfect.

Tony was simply amazing. He had exceptional communication prior to our event and made us feel completely at ease. During our event he delivered a myriad of unreal mixes and classic crowd pleasers. Being the bride, I had every intention of socializing at our event but Tony played so many amazing tunes that I barely made it off the dance floor. Numerous times I had guests tell me how fantastic the music was and I only have Tony to thank. My wife and I (I get a huge kick out of saying "wife") organised our wedding from Australia, and so we didn't meet Tony until a few days before the wedding. We made arrangements to catch up in Hawaii, and Tony was on time, very courteous and professional, and very keen to hear what WE wanted for our wedding....and he delivered exactly what we wanted! We had several generations of guests, and he catered to them all, playing a great combination of old and new music, and some amazing mixes that kept everyone wowed. I couldn't recommend him more if I tried, so please if you are thinking of having a DJ for your wedding in Hawaii, use Tony, and I promise you, you won't regret it!

I am from NYC and Tony lives in Honolulu. Yet was willing to take on the challenge of working with me and our time difference as well as exceed my high expectations for our DJ.

My husband and I felt there were three things that mattered the most: The DJ, the food and the place/service we would provide to our guests. Right from the very first meeting Tony showed us how important his work was to him. He is an extremely professional individual that cares a lot about his work and is very enthusiastic about his work, the music that the couple want and how the event can turn out.

He literally had the entire crowd (all of our guests) on the dance floor throughout the night - everyone - including a couple that were 61 and 62 years old. Tony was able to read the crowd very well and play the music according to what they liked. This is exactly what we were looking for - excellent DJ, with excellent music selection and great MC.

I did not provide him with a list like other DJ's ask. I only gave him the important songs such as the first song and the mother-son song. Really, he is an excellent DJ and an awesome MC. He is so good that my brother in law is getting married next year in Canada and after attending our wedding is considering hiring Tony for his wedding. Canada is ways away from Honolulu .....

I highly highly recommend Tony So for your event - especially your wedding. BTW, he cares so much about his clients that he called me at home and spoke to me for over an hour when we first met to ensure all my questions were answered and I had no doubts in hiring him. None of the other DJs that we were considering did that. Once again, I highly highly highly recommend him.

It was so awesome to have the chance to hire Tony as our DJ. He was such a great help and made everything truly memorable for us. There's a reason this guy has the word "THE" in his title...because I would say he is THE BEST in the island. Not trying to sound cheesy or anything...but he is! :-)

Since I live on the mainland, Tony personally called me to introduce himself and to get kind of a feel of what type of music we wanted and how we wanted our reception to run. He even e-mailed us a questionnaire so that we could tell him what music we preferred for things like the "cake cutting", "first dance", etc.

Towards a week before the wedding, he called us again to find a good time to meet face to face so we could figure out all the remaining details. Unfortunately, there was a delay in our plane trip and we weren't scheduled to arrive on Oahu until late that evening. Thankfully, Tony was so kind enough to reschedule the meeting and still meet with us. He even drove to our hotel to make things easier for us since he knew we would be tired when we arrived. Tony was so professional and made everything so laid back and easy. All we had to tell him was what genre of music we wanted and any particular details we wanted for the reception, and he did the rest.

The wedding reception went so smoothly! I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! Tony played music that everyone enjoyed....even the relatives that I absolutely thought would NOT dance, shook their "groove thang" that night. Everything was perfect!

I still have family members that compliment how great Tony was. Some of them even told me that later that evening, my Uncle got lost trying to find his car and was stuck in complete darkness (in Kualoa Ranch). He was afraid to move because there was a huge fish pond near him and, any wrong step could have him falling in the water. Luckily, Tony was able to find him and save him! Talk about service...a great DJ and hero all at the same time!! Thanks a bunch, Tony!

Tony So is more than a DJ. He is a wedding planner, event coordinator, hotel negotiator, and a funny easy-going guy. We planned a destination wedding, me living in Japan trying to get friends and family from all over the world to converge on our wedding date.

I did all my business with Tony over the phone. His expertise in all things wedding related helped me immensely. Over the phone we could discuss what I wanted and what he could do for me, and he told me what things I would need and need to do for our wedding. Through email we could complete the paperwork, and in person he is a friendly, likeable guy.

I had a certain image in mind regarding how I wanted our wedding reception to go, and Tony hit a home run. I left the music choices up to him, and he totally crushed it. He knew exactly what I wanted, and played songs that made everybody at the party happy. His knowledge of music, musical genres, and multiple versions of fantastic songs really made our wedding reception memorable.

Tony is very familiar with hotels, event managers, banquet managers, etc. in Hawaii. He isn't just knowledgeable about music; he understands the entire hospitality industry. And everyone we worked with through our hotel and reception party knew Tony and LIKED him! His business relationships really helped make our party one to remember. In fact he had multiple copies of the schedule of events for the reception (which he made on his own) and he gave one to the Banquet Manager of the hotel to help ensure a smooth and easy party.

Tony cares about his clients, and could not be easier to work with. He goes the extra mile to help make your dream party a reality. He is flexible, knowledgeable, and just an all around nice guy. 5 stars!!!

There seriously is not one thing negative to say about Tony So. I chose him to be our DJ/Emcee for a destination wedding party of about 55 people. A total of 53 people pretty much danced there behinds off until the reception was over. The remaining 2 people were my grandparents who are both over 85 and go to bed around 8 pm. Needless to say, everyone danced and had a blast all night.

Out of all our vendors, my husband and I were most ecstatic about our DJ Tony. Since the day we booked him, he has helped us with not only our music and what to do throughout our reception, but he also gave us fabulous advice on almost all other aspects of our destination wedding. Although the wedding guest count was fairly small, we had a very eclectic group of people and we knew that good music would tie everyone together, so we knew we had to have someone good for the reception.

After e-mailing eachother for a few months, we finally met Tony for the first time after we arrived in Hawaii. He met us at our hotel and gave my husband and I a breakdown of how our wedding reception was going to play out. We talked for about an hour...(20 minutes to explain to us how the wedding was going to be played out and the rest of the time was him playing music that we couldn't stop listening to). The moment we told him what kind of music we liked for our cocktail hour/dinner/dancing, he would play a medley of sound that had my husband and I literally dancing in our chairs or saying to eachother..."I love this song, can you make sure you play it!!" After all that was said and done, we had guests come up to us and say how awesome the music was and that they haven't had such a good time in a such a long time. Those comments to us made our wedding night that much more special to us and we Thank Tony for that.

Where do I begin? We had the absolute best time at our reception thanks to Tony!

Initially I was a little skeptical because we were not able to meet up with Tony before we booked him since we were planning the wedding from the mainland. But after speaking on the phone with him a couple of times, he made us feel completely at ease. He is very personable yet very professional and totally put all our doubts to rest. He is extremely responsive and resourceful and that just solidified my confidence in him.

When we met up with him a week before the wedding and my fiance and we just fell in love with him! Even though he was going through a very difficult time personally, he was nothing but professional. I have the utmost respect for him after witnessing his geniune passion for his couples and his work.

He worked with our MC (which was a personal friend and first time MC) and the reception was perfect! Tony has this uncanny ability to read the crowd and he cues everything to the tee. People were dancing all night long and all my guests loved it!

I can go on and on and on about Tony but you must experience him for yourself! He is definitely "The DJ" and in our eyes, he is the best! We will always have the fondest memories of our special day thanks to Tony!

Tony So was AWESOME! Planning a destination wedding is extremely stressful when you can't be there to see or meet your options. After talking to other DJs, I knew Tony would be perfect for us! He came highly recommended from our Estate and is known for his professionalism. Months before the wedding, he responded to every one of my e-mails within minutes. What can I say, Tony So was an amazing DJ and emcee for our destination wedding. To begin with, Tony was super responsive to all our emails. Since it was a destination wedding, it was difficult to feel confident in choosing our vendors, but once we spoke with Tony, we knew he would be a great fit for our wedding. He was extremely easy to speak with and we were comfortable and confident he would be a great DJ/emcee for our wedding.

As the wedding day approached, Tony was great in taking the initiative to contact me and follow up on everything (which was very refreshing since I was already overwhelmed trying to keep track of everything else).

Moreover, I cannot express the profound professionalism Tony has for what he does. He truly puts the bride and groom first and guarantees them a great time. Sadly, less than two weeks before our wedding, Tony's sister passed away. Words cannot express how professional he was about our wedding. He went out of his way to assure us that he was extremely prepared to DJ/emcee our wedding. He kept us posted on his travels and we were in constant contact. His actions, professionalism, and upbeat attitude during this difficult time in his life are a reflection of what a great person Tony is!

On the day of our wedding, we finally got to meet Tony and I have to say, I felt like I knew him already! He is an absolutely amazing DJ and emcee. His music choice/selections were perfect for our crowd/guests. Everyone was dancing. I'm pretty sure everyone had sore feet the next day. Tony had everyone up on the dance floor having a great time! He is extremely observant and knows exactly what to play (Tony can read a crowd well).

I would highly recommend Tony as your DJ and emcee. His professionalism is outstanding and his skill for music is exceptional/unrivaled. Thanks Tony for making our wedding memorable!

Tony So is not only “The DJ”, but he is also “The Man” when it comes to wedding DJs!

Please let me explain. My wife and I found out about Tony’s DJ service from our photographer who was also a wonderful find. He recommended Tony and we were not disappointed. The first time we met Tony and our first impressions were that is friendly, prepared, very experienced in the DJ business, easy to work with and a genuine individual. His services are surprisingly reasonably priced. We secured his services the same day. We met with Tony 4-5 times prior the wedding date. Each meeting was about few hours long and he was flexible to accommodate our busy schedules. That shows his commitment to service excellence. Not only did he help us with the song selections and the DJ/music aspects of the wedding, but he also help with our wedding timeline and really put us at ease with his positive and supportive personality. It was comforting and it lighten our stress load. Our wedding party planned an elaborate entrance and dance skit for us. Tony was amazingly capable of working with a large group with various personalities. The group meeting was productive and our wedding party was confident that Tony would deliver on the great music for their dance skit. That shows his poise, experience and professionalism.

It’s comforting to not have to worry about certain elements on the wedding day and for us, the DJ being one of them. On the wedding day, Tony showed up and setup right on time. Tony has great equipment. The quality of his speaker system, music timing and volume level during the ceremony was spot-on and that positive flow carried on to the dinner reception and dancing at the end of the receptions. Our wedding party’s entrance and dance skit went off without a hitch. Tony played just the right music through out the reception and dancing portion was awesome. We were surprised at the number of our guests came out the dance floor. Truly, Tony’s DJ service is worth every penny. Tony is also a wonderful person and newfound friend and that is priceless! My wife and I highly recommend Tony The DJ Hawaii for your wedding or other DJ services. You will not be disappointed.

First off, I'd like to offer a bit of context to my review. My husband recently turned 30, and I'm in my late 20s. Music was near the top of our priority list - second to photography. We love hip hop, and new wave. While we have nothing against the YMCA, electric slide, etc., we weren't looking for those sort of tunes for our wedding. Tony So was recommended by another DJ we had contacted, but was unavailable on our wedding date. We were sold on Tony after our first conversation. Coincidentally, the DJ who recommended him became available (before signing a contract with Tony), but we felt our personalities clicked more with Tony, and moved forward with securing his services.

Tony provided the sound equipment for our ceremony and reception, in addition to a projector and screen for our slideshow at the reception. For those holding their wedding in Waikiki, you know how expensive projector rentals are! Regarding the ceremony audio, everything went off without a hitch. With 120 guests at our outdoor ceremony, he provided the necessary equipment to project the sound from our instrumentalists, and of course... us. A lot of my requests were last minute via email (e.g., boom mic), and he always responded within hours (sometimes minutes). He always assured me there was nothing to worry about, and that he would handle it. It was handled! My day of coordinator, nor I, nor my husband, had to worry about a thing when it came to Tony's services.

I wish I could upload pictures to this review, because the dance floor was never empty at our reception. What's amazing is that when songs weren't popular with the crowd (ones I provided), he would fade them out, and move on to the next one without anyone noticing. He was, by far, my favorite vendor and such a pleasure to work with. He's extremely personable, and his professionalism is top-notch. Thanks to Tony, everyone had a blast!

P.S. even our 70+ year old relatives were getting down on the dance floor - no joke!~

Tony So made our wedding so much fun and the music choices were awesome! We received so many compliments from our guests about how great the music was at the reception. It was a blast and Tony was so personable and charismatic, he really knows how to create a party atmosphere. He made the whole experience easy and we didn't have to worry about anything in the program or timeline because Tony took care of it without any problems or hitches. Tony is awesome. He knows how to keep the party going, and he plays the best music! He also doesn't play stuff you don't want him to, which is great as well! I would definetely recommend him for any wedding!

After reading many positive reviews on the Wedding Wire, it didn't take me long to finally choose Tony from "The DJ Hawaii" as my emcee/DJ for my wedding. I had researched many different websites and found out that DJ Hawaii had done a superb job at different venues and every occasion. He is very easy to talk with. During one of my first conversations with Tony on the phone, he sounded very genuine. I got that feeling that he was willing to help me in any way he could. I had done most of my communicating with Tony through email since I was living in the mainland. In fact, Tony showed that he cared and showed concern when he emailed us to see if we were ok when Hurricane Ike struck Texas in 2008. Tony responded very quickly to ALL my emails and was always willing to accommodate anything that I needed.

I needed a DJ/emcee who was fun and entertaining and who could liven up any party, in this case, a wedding. I also needed a DJ who could get people on the dance floor, including non-dancers like myself. I read somewhere that another person was afraid no one would get on the dance floor, but Tony somehow got everyone dancing at that party. This was something that I wanted to see for myself if Tony could get people on the dance floor.

We met several times a couple of weeks before our wedding. My wife and I sorta had our wedding program set, but not quite. Tony was nice enough to help us tweak our wedding program for our reception to make it flow better. I don't know of any other DJ that will do this without charging extra. Tony showed his experience doing weddings because he made sure everything would flow perfectly on our programs and assured us that he knew exactly when to play certain songs at certain times. Tony also took into consideration the type of songs we wanted played at our weddings.

When the day finally came, I remembered how professional Tony was. At one point, my wife was not too happy about our unity candle not being set up in our reception and that the room was not filled enough. Knowing that my wife was already stressed from making sure everything had to be perfect, Tony stayed calm and told us that he would wait a few more minutes for guests to arrive, (being it was a friday night) and proceeded to make sure that the unity table was setup in a timely manner before he would start the program.

I was amazed at how smooth our reception went. Everything was in order just like we had planned with Tony. Tony did a great job with the emceeing and not to mention the AWESOME music that Tony and his assistant had played for the reception. This showed us that Tony was also very organized. Most importantly he got people dancing on the dance floor INCLUDING myself. Not much of a dancer, but Tony somehow got me on the dance floor too.

I can't help but rave so much on the WONDERFUL job Tony did for our wedding. He is a real PROFESSIONAL and will not let you down. If you are searching for a fun and entertaining DJ at a great price for your occasion, stop your search now and look no further. Tony from "the DJ hawaii" is the ONLY DJ that you need. So stop stressing and book him now! You will not regret it, I promise!

Most of the people would agree that one of the most important attributes for a successful and fun wedding is music, and that is exactly why my husband and I spent a lot of time selecting a DJ for our wedding in Hawaii. It was complicated to say the least, as we were planning a wedding in Hawaii and managing busy schedules in New York, but it was not the only complication. Our guests were from different parts of the world and we were looking to incorporate songs in at least six languages. Tony not only worked with us for hours on the song selection and timeline before we came to Hawaii, but stayed with us at our hotel till 2 am for several days to make sure everything was perfect. At the wedding everybody was dancing non-stop and having a great time, people didnt even want to sit down to eat!
Tony gives his heart and soul at the event and always happy to help or suggest something. I cant imagine anybody who is more professional and knowledgeable about entertainment then Tony!

We met with Tony about two months before our wedding. He met with us went over everything and even worked with us on our budget! My friends & family loved the music and how sociable he was. He even emailed me to see if there was anything he could do to help with our wedding time line or anything else we needed. We appreciated all of his input and suggestions, we just wish it could have lasted longer! We'll always keep him in mind if anyone ever asks for a DJ.

Tony was awesome!!! Exceptional service and very helpful in understanding/designing the elements of a reception program. He presented excellent ideas and fulfilled our vision. We were very comfortable with Tony all the way through and were so happy the reception turned out the way it did. Tony is now a part of our ohana and we will recommend him to any of our friends and family members who plan to get married in Hawaii. Tony was also our emcee and this we highly recommend as well.

Tony was great! He worked with us from beginning to end. He always answered our emails and phone calls in a timely manner. He also gave us suggestions for the reception and worked with us in doing a timeline. He is truly a professional and we would recommend him for sure!

I would highly recommend using The DJ Hawaii for any wedding or event. Tony was very professional and had a personable and friendly attitude. I planned the majority of my wedding from the mainland and he was very easy to correspond with and always returned emails right away. Some things on my part were a little last minute, but he worked right through it and we had wonderful music for our wedding reception. We also had some parts of the program that required use of his sound system. Tony was very helpful in assisting with the set up and ensuring that everything was in working order. Great job!!

Tony was awesome! He is very well organized and genuinely cares about making your special event a success. I live in Texas but my wedding was in Hawaii and had to communicate back and forth through phone calls and e-mails and he was very fast at responding back. He met up with us couple of days before the wedding to ensure he had planned exactly what we wanted. I provided a list of songs that I wanted played at my wedding and he made sure that they were played. He also MC'd the event and did a wonderful job. Any special requests that the Guests had he was able to play. I highly recommend Tony So for your event!

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give The DJ Hawaii a 100. Tony helped insure that our big day ran smoothly . . . and it did . . . no one got bored . . . things kept moving along on time . . . and played all the music we wanted to hear.

It would be a mistake not to go with the DJ Hawaii for their next big occasion. Go with the one that knows best. Tony is a great person that provides great service . . . so easy to work with.

Tony at "The DJ Hawaii" was a very good vendor for us. He played the music we requested and kept in mind the geneeral mood we wanted for our dinner reception. He was also very responsive on email leading up to the wedding day, and was flexible with any requests that we made. Would definitely recommend him to other couples looking to get married in Oahu.

A DJ was the hardest vendor to book for our wedding! Most of the ones we interviewed were way over-priced or not professional. We did not need any emcee services and most DJ's were turned off by this. When we met Tony So, we were extremely happy.

He is very flexible and easy going. We did not have any songs in mind for our reception program. We left it up to Tony to choose everything. He did a great job! We received many compliments about the song selections....and all the credit goes to Tony. We did not choose a single song that was played at our reception, although we gave Tony a general guideline of the songs we liked.

I feel extremely lucky to have booked such a professional DJ vendor, "The DJ", Tony So. Matt and I were fortunate enough to work with Tony. He was more than willing to take time from his hectic schedule to have a pre-wedding meeting with us and helped my emcee, Kyle prep and get through the evening with flying colors! Tony made Matt and I feel at ease when walking us through the entire ceremony and reception process and was a great help in organizing or wedding day timeline. Tony So, with the DJ Hawaii was SO awesome!!! He helped take the pressure off of the music and did so wonderful! He was friendly and down to earth! Plus our wedding and reception were perfect, because he was able to play all of the music we wanted, along with some of his own selections. It was an incredible day!

Tony So is a friendly, accommodating, reliable, professional who practices good business sense. Tony worked with us in determining our wedding music selections based on the sort of genre(s) we were interested in and tone we wanted to set. He was more than willing to work with us to create the perfect music program. I have heard horror stories about DJs playing music THEY wanted to play without any regard to what their client had requested. From my experience with Tony, I gave him an idea of the genres and examples of artists and songs I liked and he picked out music that was wedding appropriate and tasteful. Throughout the night, he made it a point to observe our guests so he could set the perfect mood and keep their interest. For our wedding program we chose music selections for certain events and Tony timed them perfectly from the grand entrance to the transitioning from one moment to the next. Our sunset reception had just under 100 guests ranging from ages 2-80. He played music that everyone enjoyed and my guests commented on his charming personality. Tony even took special requests from our flower girls and ring bearer and incorporated the song at the conclusion of our program, again, everyone was on the dance floor having a great time.

I highly recommend considering Tony for your wedding. I live in California and planned my own wedding on Oahu. Hiring vendors you can trust is so important especially when you are planning a destination wedding. I am so lucky and fortunate that Tony was our DJ and have absolutely no regrets.

Tony is amazing! He dj'd and emcee'd the evening for us. He does a great job of gaging the guests vibe and plays music to really get and keep people on the dance floor. Highly recommend him.

Awesome job - also was our emcee and did a great job learning everyone's name. Kept the program moving smoothly and on time. Played a good mix of our favorite music and top hits during the dance portion of the program. Highly recommended!

Tony was a great DJ and Emcee. We couldnt have gotten anyone better for the job and we are sure of this. Even though he we only spoke with him on the phone before our weddding, he knew exactly what we wanted and asked all the right questions! We would recommend him to everyone we meet.

Tony was very accommodating with all of our requests such as playing certain songs on cue during the reception. We had to do little in the way of choosing songs for the end of the night. Instead all we did was give him some suggestions on the type and style of music we wanted before hand and he provided an excellent repertoire during the event. We were very pleased with the experience.
