A sign of the nation’s affluence, the Presidential Suite embodies the historic grandeur of old D.C. and represents an important narrative of United States history. After the assassination of President James A. Garfield, the Presidential Suite was built for presidents to safely await their travels and it’s the very room several presidents used to welcome world leaders and dignitaries to the United States. During the world wars, it was temporarily transitioned to a USO lounge for soldiers heading off to war.
The President Suite has recently undergone an expansive renovation and is currently available as a private event space in D.C. This uniquely historic room can accommodate up to 300 for cocktail receptions, and 160 for a seated dinner. It works well in conjunction with other spaces, but can also house your event in entirety.
For more information on reserving this event space, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 202-289-8300 and a member of our special events team will be happy to assist you.

My wedding reception was held in the Columbus Room and the cocktail hour in Palm Court. Even though the earthquake earlier in the year caused some construction the venue was still amazing! Our guests were blown away by the location and I loved being right near the Capitol with all the history and excitement of Washington DC.Sent on 06/08/2012
Marissa Filderman was our contact and she was great to work with! She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help with anything. After the wedding she made it so easy for my parents to get all of the gifts and pick up other items. It was truly first class service the entire way!

I love Michele Jacobs and her team at Union Station. Our wedding and reception were in the Columbus Room/Palm Court and not only did they exceed our expectations, our guests are still asking us about the venue...everyone was impressed by the simple elegance of the room. If you are looking for a venue that is uniquely Washington, DC, elegant, and extremely easy to work with - call Union Station. The costs are very competitive with other venues in town but without the hassle. They have one vendor for catering- Design Cuisine and they are FABULOUS. The food is delicious and they were creative with our requests.Sent on 05/03/2012
