Union Station was the perfect setting for my recent wedding. The professionalism and flexibility of the staff was first rate and it provided not only for an incredibly memorable day but a easy and fun wedding planning experience.

My wedding reception was held in the Columbus Room and the cocktail hour in Palm Court. Even though the earthquake earlier in the year caused some construction the venue was still amazing! Our guests were blown away by the location and I loved being right near the Capitol with all the history and excitement of Washington DC.

Marissa Filderman was our contact and she was great to work with! She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help with anything. After the wedding she made it so easy for my parents to get all of the gifts and pick up other items. It was truly first class service the entire way!

I love Michele Jacobs and her team at Union Station. Our wedding and reception were in the Columbus Room/Palm Court and not only did they exceed our expectations, our guests are still asking us about the venue...everyone was impressed by the simple elegance of the room. If you are looking for a venue that is uniquely Washington, DC, elegant, and extremely easy to work with - call Union Station. The costs are very competitive with other venues in town but without the hassle. They have one vendor for catering- Design Cuisine and they are FABULOUS. The food is delicious and they were creative with our requests.

We had our wedding ceremony in the Columbus Club and the reception in the East Hall. At first we were not going to use the East Hall and we are so glad that we spent the extra money to be in the East Hall. The space is beautiful. The event planner that works for Special Events at Union Station, Hillary, is also incredibly helpful. She has a lot of ideas and really acts as your wedding planner. On the day of the wedding she did all of the coordinating and didn't miss a beat.

I highly recommend checking out Union Station (East Hall) for a wedding reception. It is such a unique and beautiful venue! East Hall is so impressive and everyone who helped during the reception were professional and very friendly.

We did not end up having our wedding at Union Station, in part because of the lack of communication and inflexibility. We were offered the newly reopened Presidential Suite as an option for our wedding, and were told that we could have the cocktail hour on the portico. Union Station has a great feature where they will let you soft-hold a "reasonable" number of dates, and then if someone wants that date they call you and you have something like 24 hours to decide to book it or not. We put down two dates and went on our merry way. A few days later, they reached out and told us that actually the portico would be too small for cocktail hour, but we could rent the Palm Court along with the Columbus Club - for the full price. We asked if we could just do the Palm Court because we only needed cocktail hour and we weren't enamored with the Columbus Club. They only do one wedding a night anyway. The answer - no, it has to be the full fee. That almost doubled the venue fee - just for cocktail hour! And now we have a space we don't need or really want or like. When we asked for clarification on the price (it's less expensive when you add the Columbus Club+Palm Court option on to the East Hall - which was basically what we were trying to do with the Presidential Suite), they never responded to us. What's more, they never called us about our held dates. Given that they were September and November 2017 dates, I find it unlikely that those dates haven't been taken by now. It was a gorgeous space, but we're very disappointed with the inflexibility and the lack of communication. Not worth our time or our money.
