I reached out to Sarah to inquire about a wedding cake and she truly brought our vision to life. She was quick to respond to our inquiry and asked key questions and was transparent about her pricing. After a tasting we new this was going to be our wedding cake. After sending her some inspiration she was able to provide a sketch and price break down for our cake. About a week prior to our wedding, Sarah proactively reached out to confirm the venue address and drop off times. She delivered the most stunning and delicious cake that our guests wouldn't raving about!

Sarah & Simon Cake Design was on the list of preferred vendors from our venue. After getting the extensive listing of flavors from Sarah, my now husband and I shortened the list to include the flavors we were interested in trying and made several combinations that would allow us to try each flavor. Sarah guided me away from the nearly naked cake of my dreams and towards a minimally naked cake - preserving the cake's moisture, and she was totally right! When we picked up our cake samples to try the various flavors, I was delighted to find that she had made several miniature minimally naked cakes! The other cake tastings we had done were offered as cupcakes, which made it much more difficult to envision the final cake. I also need to note that they traveled perfectly from Brooklyn to New Jersey (where I live) as they were packaged with great care. We eventually selected our flavors and got Sarah in touch with our florist to ensure that we had floral elements on the cake that matched the rest of the wedding aesthetic. Sarah was easy to work with and created a beautiful wedding cake that we only wish there was more of! One of the few things guests remember about a wedding is if the cake was any good. It was delicious and guests raved about it - even the ones who hate cake!

Sarah made us the most incredible cake for our small COVID wedding. She was incredibly flexible with what the options were. It was even more beautiful than we imagined and was SO delicious. There were only a few of my family members there, but the cake was nearly completely consumed by the next AM - despite it being the size of a 20+ person cake! We initially all thought the flowers had to be inedible or silk because they were so intricate. It was such a special part of our day- we’re so appreciative you were able to be part of it, especially given all of the potential challenges posed by the state of our world. Sarah was so easy to talk to and get in touch with, and despite our limited timeline. I highly recommend her - the most beautiful and tasty cake I've had!

They Truly are the best! We found them on Instagram while searching for a specific design for our wedding cake (renaissance-painting style). Sarah and Simon confirmed they could make our design and they didn’t disappoint!! When we saw our cake, we were stunned! We were so happy of their work that we requested a smaller version of our cake for our first wedding anniversary! We love working with them and we will continue to use them for all of our special events.

Sarah created the cake of our dreams! It was so easy to work with Sarah on the design and flavors. She incorporated my husband's favorite food (blueberries) into the cake and designed a stunning and delicious 5-tier cake! She even created an adorable and realistic miniature of our dog! We couldn't have been happier.

When my wedding planner suggested Sarah of S &S Cakes I knew immediately that she was exactly who I wanted to work with for my cake. I myself have dabbled in cake design (but was not going to do it for my wedding because I really couldn't handle more stress haha), so I can identify right off the bat who really has innate artistic skill with this and Sarah absolutely does. She's an artist first and foremost, so her sculpting, attention to detail, color palettes, and stories are always on point. She is not afraid to think about the box and her precision is impecable. She was open to working with me as well- I wanted to take some part in the design process and wanted to make the sugar flowers for the cake. She was so incredibly easy to work with and she definitely made my dream cake happen. Communication with her is always great. You can tell she is incredibly proud of everything she does. She worked with me as well to source a sturdy cake base for my more unconventional cake stack. She also took one of the most special details of the wedding and applied that to the cake. From my bouquet I had these little lace suns my late grandmother had made herself (soles de maracaibo). Sarah made identical impressions of the lace suns on the cake! It was done so beautifully. Flavor: So, so good! My husband and I went in thinking we were going to end up with X flavors and ended up doing Y flavors because she really achieves an excellent balance and nothing overpowers anything too much. It was such a hard choice to make! All the cake options were divine! We ended up with a triple lemon (lemon cake, lemon buttercream, lemon curd) and a Valrhona chocolate cake with raspberry jam and raspberry buttercream). Just delicious! Can't wait to get to our first anniversary to bite in to the topper cake!

We were not thrilled with the final product. We asked for a small display cake and we understood it would be very small but we expected the presentation to be better than it was - the top layer wasn’t centered and its shape was uneven. It didn’t look great in photos and it was also dry. After tasting it, my husband and I ended up not eating it and instead indulged in our other dessert options. We were looking so forward to enjoying our cake and were ultimately unable to do so.

We were so disappointed when we saw the final product and even more so when we got our pictures back. Wouldn’t recommend.
